NIGHT SHIFT ROLES; BUTCHER AND PICKER-PACKER - PRODUCTION OPERATIVE

County Foods, an established Catering Butchers are currently looking to fill the following roles:

• BUTCHER ON NIGHT SHIFT - as a Butcher with experience working with all species, you will prepare fresh meats to a high standard to individual customer specification for supply to both retail and the catering trade. Reporting to either a Shift Supervisor or Manager, you will work on a traditional butcher's block, i.e. this is not a role on a processing line. You will work within a team of 6 to 8 production personnel in a shift based factory environment.

• PICKER-PACKER / PRODUCTION OPERATIVE ON NIGHT SHIFT - working within the Production Department picking goods from fridges, freezers and other storage areas, packing and accurately labelling produce, assisting with van loading and cleaning of designated areas, including machinery within the butchery department.

It is essential that candidates have a good level of both written and spoken English as all employees are required to accurately follow instruction and complete paperwork associated with their duties.

WORKING HOURS:

Night Shift - 40 hours worked over 5 night shifts, 10:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.

Previous experience of working night shifts, preferably within a food production environment would be an advantage.

• DHL offer a fantastic 5 day training programme (fully paid) to ensure every new worker feels confident in their new role, but previous experience is required within a warehouse environment.
• We are currently offering full time positions on an 8 week rolling rota which includes some weekends, shifts available are our early shifts 0600-1430 and late shifts 1300-2130.
• Pay rates are extremely competitive, starting at £11.00 per hour increasing up to £15.45 per hour depending on performance, weekend pay starts at £13.74 per hour.

• Sainsbury's Bristol has 2 main chambers, Chill and Ambient. New employees may be required to work across both chambers so need to be comfortable working in chill conditions and must be able to lift heavy items including wine and other alcoholic beverages.
• When working in Ambient a LLOP (picking truck) is required and therefore a test must be passed after full training to secure your role with us.

We are recruiting for an experienced Labourer to join our South West Region, to be site based in Keynsham. Working as a Labourer, you can play a crucial role in ensuring we always meet those exacting standards, assisting the various trades on-site with general labouring duties to the very best of your ability. This role will be diverse, ranging from monitoring stock levels to maintaining satisfactory standards of cleanliness throughout the site, including welfare and compound facilities, making the Site Manager or Assistant Site Manager aware of any issues or concerns.

MAIN DUTIES

• Keeping an eye on stock levels and to make the Site Manager/Assistant Site Manager aware of the stock levels when low.
• To maintain a satisfactory level of cleanliness throughout the site, including welfare and compound facilities.
• There may be a requirement to take on the role of a first aider onsite.
• Aid with any health & safety measures in order to comply with standards, such as; pedestrian routes and access, securing perimeter fencing, installing fall protection systems and site shut down procedures.
• Attend meetings that may be necessary in the performance of your duties.
• Comply with and uphold company policies and procedures.
• Undertake any additional tasks as may reasonably be required from time to time.
• Ensuring all health and Safety aspects of Covid-19.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES 

• Experience in a previous role as a Labourer on a busy construction Site
• Effective communication skills, and good time management
• Self-motivated and proactive with an enthusiastic work ethic.
