  • Leading squad code development in an Agile delivery structure, influencing wider development standards.

  • Experience in developing high quality, scalable and efficient web apps at an enterprise scale, with a solid understanding of the full software development cycle.
  • Front end development including React, JavaScript, node.js, Next using common design principles including SOLID. 
  • Though not essential, experience of Full Stack development is beneficial including Java, microservices, API gateways, Docker/Kubernetes, Spring Boot and containerisation.

The React.js Developer Role:

About us

The team at Urban Village Medical Practice are quite unique as we look after quite a diverse population. We hold a standard GMS contract for 12,000 patients and also provide care for 800 homeless patients in Manchester as well as outreach support. We are steadily growing our workforce to meet the demands of primary care and we want the services we offer to reflect our journey. Our clinical workforce consists of 5 partners, 6 salaried GPs, 2 practice nurses, 2 HCA.

Job description

Job responsibilities

To be responsible for the production of information on performance and quality standards within the practice (QoF, Manchester Standards & any other quality improvement programme)

To manage data quality issues, providing advice and guidance to all practice staff in the use of the clinical systems including Open Exeter, CQRS, EMIS WEB, Docman 10 and Patient Chase.

To perform data analysis and support the interpretation of clinical data, through the use of statistical technique.

To analyse, investigate and interpret data and assist with planning and monitoring work undertaken in relation to Directed National and Local Enhanced Services and the Quality Outcomes Framework (QOF) and any other Quality Improvement Scheme (QIS) taking appropriate action to ensure that all targets are achieved and accurate claims are returned

To deliver information to the SMT and practice in a manner appropriate to ensure widespread understanding.

To contribute to the delivery of regular, timely and accurate information to both internal and external stakeholders using appropriate analytical and presentation techniques

To assist the Practice Business Administrator with the clinical IT systems and assist in resolving hardware /software issues and liaising with the IT support team

To work with the Clinicians, Senior Management Team, Managers, Administrators and Medicines Management Team to review practice performance in relation to key performance indicators including the Quality Outcomes Framework (QOF) and Quality Improvement Scheme (QIS).

To work strategically to review and monitor the patient call and recall systems

Maintain Cancer and Palliative care spreadsheets / registers and co-ordinate meetings with the clinical team and other health care professionals and key stakeholders

To attend internal and external meetings and Protected Learning Time training sessions

To provide a monthly update to clinicians and all staff in relation to practice performance in relation to the key targets and performance indicators

To contribute to the delivery of a diverse range of information enquiries generated by both internal and external stakeholders

Production of Performance and Quality Information:-

To be aware of and promote national, local and practice quality standards for chronic disease management, to ensure that the quality of care is maintained at a high standard using NICE Guidance and the existing GP Contract as a guide

To oversee all the processes required to produce the achievement standards for;

To be the lead for clinical audit within the practice and assist staff in clinical searches and audit processes together with the collation and interpretation of patient data

To provide support in correctly identifying and targeting patients for assessment and treatment. This includes patient care plans for housebound and frailty etc.

To ensure staff are aware of the importance of maintaining disease registers and assist in the validation process.

To validate information provided by Commissioners (CCG) and NHS England in relation to practice based commissioning

Staff Management

To provide support and training for current and new staff ensuring that data quality guidelines are understood and adhered to

To assist the Office Supervisor to ensure that the procedures for entering all data into patients medical records, produce accurately summarised records and that all patient records are correctly updated when needed

Ensure patient records are maintained (data quality)

To liaise with the SMT and Operational Manager to oversee all methods of data entry and ensure templates and protocols are reviewed and updated as required

To oversee scanning undertaken by reception staff of letters and reports into patient records and ensure that records are updated with appropriate coding from hospital letters, reports and other sources of information

To assist with the maintenance of external communication scheduling and links such as Clinical EDI for laboratory reports, out of hours reports

General

Undertake any other additional duties commensurate to the post as requested by the Senior Management Team

Work within practice guidelines and processes to ensure financial and security controls and good employment practice are maintained

To attend meetings as required internally and externally of the practice this includes; CCG, Practice Meetings, Prescribing Meetings, Management Team Meeting and Protected Learning Time training sessions

You will be required to work flexibly and may be required to work late evenings, weekends and bank holidays and to cover 7-day operation as requested

You will be required to attend training sessions and meetings at other locations which are applicable to the job role.

Ensure the practice adheres to GDPR

To ensure that medical records are held securely within the practice and data is held in line with NHS Codes of Practice for records management, the RCGP Good Practice Guidelines for electronic records, Data Protection Act, Caldecott Principles and Freedom of Information Act

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Royal Manchester Childrens Hospital supporting Theatres and Surgery in the analysis of complex trends involving multiple streams of data, forecasts benefits and tracking of performance against theatre productivity, monitoring scheduled patient operating lists to ensure they are utilised appropriately.

The successful post holder will manage and ensure that robust and accurate information management systems are in place and produce reports for performance management and reports to external bodies. They will work closely with the Assistant General Manager and Theatre Matron to provide analytical support to produce and interpret the information the Service Unit needs both internally and externally to support and develop its business aims, and to meet the Hospitals and Trust's statutory information requirements

Due to the nature of the post, the post holder must be able to multitask, prioritise, be highly flexible and have enthusiasm and stamina to achieve goals and see things through. The post holder must be able to work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision.
