Job Description

About the role

As a Tech Lead at Snook, you will lead the new and growing team of developers within our Digital team, and set the standard for our coding approach. You’ll report to our Head of Digital to provide oversight of technical delivery, and provide coaching for developers. 

This is a really exciting opportunity to join the team and share your experiences and knowledge. You will be able to advise on the tech stack for the project.

  • Develop, test, deploy and improve digital products in a continuous delivery environment 
  • Develop our technology practices including test-driven development, code review, pair-programming, QA, approaches and professional development and training.

You will help create a supportive team and a culture of partnership, consistency, operational excellence and delivery.  You will foster good engineering practices, rhythms and rituals, team dynamics and delivery within the Head of Digital’s team. And you will help the team make brilliant connections with the other designers and researchers across the rest of Snook.

Qualifications

With experience of varies projects and technologies, you could be already working as a Tech Lead or be a Senior Engineer looking to make your next career move into a Teach Lead position.

  • Confident in coaching clients on best software and agile practices 
  • Balance a human centred design approach and prioritising user needs with business and technical goals
  • Working with the Head of Digital to establish our technology practices including test-driven development, code review, pair-programming, QA, and professional development and training
  • Very experienced in full-stack development in a variety of programming languages. Our current tech stack at Snook includes: Ruby on Rails, Node.js and React.js.
  • Very experienced in leading the team to adopt Test Driven Development (TDD) and/or Behavioral Test Driven Development (BDD)

  • Familiarity with low code design tools i.e. Outsystems, Talend etc
  • Familiarity with architecture styles/APIs (REST, RPC)
  • Understanding of Agile & Waterfall Project methodologies

Bonus skills:

  • Knowledge of MS CRM or Outsystem’s platform

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with our European engineering testing teams running tests with remote access to our HIL systems
  • Run automated test suites and create new test scenarios
  • Develop and implement new test cases
  • Document software defects using tracking systems and reporting defects to our customer

Requirements

  • 3 years plus of professional experience with detailed knowledge of HIL (Hardware-in-loop) testing  
  • Strong experience in automated testing including writing test cases and test analysis
  • Experience in using CANape and Python in a work setting
  • Broad experience in the automotive sector with a strong understanding of a vehicle systems and the methods of testing a vehicle
  • Independent and proactive way of working
  • While the role would be able to be completed remotely allowing you to work from home currently, in future you would be required to work from our Warwick office or possibly a regional office if applicable
  • And most importantly, you are a team player, you are open-minded and have a positive approach to challenges

Your qualifications should include a Batchelor's degree in business or a technology-related field. Certification by the Project Management Institute (PMI), PMP is preferred, but not essential.

Travel Requirement
Travel can be up to 80%. Our projects are based all over the UK.

With experience of varies projects and technologies, you could be already working as a Tech Lead or be a Senior Engineer looking to make your next career move into a Teach Lead position.

  • Confident in coaching clients on best software and agile practices 
  • Balance a human centred design approach and prioritising user needs with business and technical goals
  • Working with the Head of Digital to establish our technology practices including test-driven development, code review, pair-programming, QA, and professional development and training
  • Very experienced in full-stack development in a variety of programming languages. Our current tech stack at Snook includes: Ruby on Rails, Node.js and React.js.
  • Very experienced in leading the team to adopt Test Driven Development (TDD) and/or Behavioral Test Driven Development (BDD)
