An opportunity to join a World Class technology team and work with some of Edinburgh's best and brightest. They're a Scottish success story (this company are a big deal) who have experienced steady growth over the last decade to become a real powerhouse. They now employ over 1,000 people globally - Edinburgh is their HQ and where it all started.
The team are fairly agnostic when it comes to specific programming languages and other technologies you may or may not have worked with - it's about attitude and enthusiasm as much as technical experience. There are multiple roles they're looking to fill, across several teams - and so it's likely you can find your niche!
To give you a flavour of the technology they're working with/interested in; AWS/cloud, mobile development (iOS, Android), programming languages including Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, Backbone), Machine Learning/ Big Data (Hadoop, Spark, Elasticsearch). You're obviously not expected to be an expert in every area - but some exposure to/interest in some of these technologies is essential.

On the non-technical side, you should be confident taking the lead on projects and guiding other Engineers on best practice. You should be capable of taking ownership of products/projects and working in a collaborative way.
The salaries on offer are basically unrivalled in Scotland plus a really strong package of benefits. Benefits include; pension, season ticket loan, life assurance, income protection, private medical, discounted gym membership, extended annual leave, cycle to work and various high street discounts.
They can offer assistance for relocators, they can sponsor visa - and they have an office in Glasgow, too, if that suits you better!

£27k - £45k Per Year

Software Engineer (Full Stack) - Edinburgh or fully remote - an opportunity to join an established company and work on their flagship products.

The company have been going for 20 years (they're really stable but still have a startup kind of feel and continue to innovate). They work with an impressive range of customers - real household names - and their products deliver real value.
They're around 40 people in total, roughly half are on the Engineering side and the team are divided into smaller teams who have ownership of specific products.
They look after their staff really well - there's lots of autonomy and you won't be micromanaged. They really empower people to manage their own work and set their own deadlines.
On the technical side they work with PHP, Symfony, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js, Vue.js, Docker, AWS (they are definitely open to experience in any OOP language).
There's lots of perks (granted, some are tied to the office like snack cupboards and really good coffee) but there's also mentoring schemes and a real focus on career development (plus generous annual budget for professional development). Under normal circumstances they are also a really sociable bunch and have regular events.
They have a swish office in Edinburgh (near the Gyle) but they are happy to consider fully remote working, or a mix of office and home-working. They are really flexible on working hours (they get that some folk are night owls and some are early birds!) and you can design your work around your life. They will also provide you with great kit (your choice).
If I've piqued your interest, please apply and/or get in touch with Rhona Kennedy at Cathcart Associates.
