The Role

Do you want to make a real difference to patient safety and the patient journey? Are you interested in working on a community ward and guiding patients through the care journey on admission, during their stay, discharge and beyond ensure the transitions of care are safe and smooth? Why not join our team of Clinical Pharmacists and Medicines Optimisation Technicians?

An opportunity has arisen for a pharmacy technician to join our team to work within the Malton Community Hospital. The role will rely on your experience to improve patients’ safety and experience. You will promote and develop your role by creating positive working relationships across multi disciplines and organisations.

The majority of your working week will be spent on the community ward within the Malton Hospital but you will also have the opportunity to work with the team at Whitby Community Hospital ensuring that in periods of leave, both hospitals will have the appropriate technician cover. Although this post will be best suited to an experienced technician there will be endless opportunity for training and development and you will be supported by an experienced team of pharmacists and technicians.

The candidate must be adaptable, enthusiastic and self-motivated have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritise their own workload.

The successful candidates will need to have:

  • BTEC National Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science or NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services
  • Current registration with the GPhC
  • Good IT abilities
  • Quality Improvement and project planning experience

Broad knowledge of medicines management and medicines optimisation gained in either primary or secondary care settings.

The Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) Service in TEWV works to improve the detection of first episode of psychosis and to provide high quality, evidence based interventions to facilitate recovery. The service works with people aged 14 -65 years interfacing with Adult and CAMHS services, delivering intervention for individuals experiencing a first episode of psychosis or potential psychotic prodrome. The service is commissioned to deliver the National Access and Waiting time standard which supports us to deliver timely NICE concordant care.

The EIP service is looking for an experienced and skilled applied psychologist or psychological therapist to make a significant contribution to the delivery and development of psychological services within the North Yorkshire & York EIP service. The post holder will deliver evidence based psychological interventions for psychosis (primarily cognitive behavioural therapy). They will also have a role in supervision and development of psychological skills within the team.

Applicants will be required to have either RMN or equivalent mental health core qualification at degree level post 1993 AND post graduate training to a BABCP accreditable level in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy OR post-graduate training (doctoral level equivalent) in clinical / counselling / forensic psychology (or its equivalent prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS. Experience in working therapeutically with psychosis would be desirable as would further training/competencies in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in Psychosis.

Due to retirement, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic doctor to join the team at Saint Catherine's Hospice in Scarborough as a part-time Hospice Doctor.

You will be a doctor with full GMC registration, MRCP/MRCGP or equivalent, and significant postgraduate experience including relevant specialty experience; or equivalent experience and competencies. Previous experience in palliative care is not essential as full training will be given, but experience would be advantageous. Knowledge of community working would also be desirable.

The current job plan is for a 20 hour part time post (5PA) but may be changed depending on the hours agreed by Saint Catherine's Hospice and the post holder. The post holder will also participate in the medical first on-call rota which consists of participation in a 1 in 6 (non-residential) on-call rota, including evenings & weekends.

Main duties of the job

You will join a friendly and supportive multi-disciplinary team and will contribute to the provision of high quality professional palliative care services across community, outpatient and hospice inpatient settings.

You will undertake specialist palliative care assessments and advise on management, incorporating symptom control, psychological, spiritual, social and advance care planning. You will be given all necessary training and consultant support, according to experience.

Although not a training post, there will be excellent support for personal development and plenty of opportunity for personal CPD, education and quality improvement work. All clinical staff are encouraged and supported to participate in teaching, clinical audit, and palliative care research where the opportunity permits.

This post would be ideal for a doctor or GP wishing to utilise and extend their core skills and develop an interest in palliative medicine.

The Role

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, specialist Occupational therapist to join the community team for adults with a Learning Disability in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established, dynamic Occupational Therapy team working alongside Occupational Therapists in the Hull and East Riding CTLD’s and LD IST services.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in a well established professional development and training group for Occupational Therapists working in adult learning disabilities. CPD needs will be identified and monitored through appraisal. Well defined supervision systems are in place.

The successful candidate will have line management responsibility and would be expected to effectively manage people alongside training and clinical supervisory responsibilities.

Whitby Hospital is currently going through an exciting period of refurbishment and we are soon to more back into our newly refurbished 16 bedded ward. We take step up admissions via GP referrals from home and step down admissions from acute hospitals in the area. The Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) Service in TEWV works to improve the detection of first episode of psychosis and to provide high quality, evidence based interventions to facilitate recovery. The service works with people aged 14 -65 years interfacing with Adult and CAMHS services, delivering intervention for individuals experiencing a first episode of psychosis or potential psychotic prodrome. The service is commissioned to deliver the National Access and Waiting time standard which supports us to deliver timely NICE concordant care.

The EIP service is looking for an experienced and skilled applied psychologist or psychological therapist to make a significant contribution to the delivery and development of psychological services within the North Yorkshire & York EIP service. The post holder will deliver evidence based psychological interventions for psychosis (primarily cognitive behavioural therapy). They will also have a role in supervision and development of psychological skills within the team.

Applicants will be required to have either RMN or equivalent mental health core qualification at degree level post 1993 AND post graduate training to a BABCP accreditable level in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy OR post-graduate training (doctoral level equivalent) in clinical / counselling / forensic psychology (or its equivalent prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS. Experience in working therapeutically with psychosis would be desirable as would further training/competencies in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in Psychosis.
