Manage the process of creation of individual SMART learning targets linked to learner study programme/course to ensure groups of learners are on track to achieve their potential. Manage the recording of student progress and to ensure that individual and group learner targets are being met. Lead activities to ensure effective planning, preparation & development of schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching & learning resources including the development of on-line learning resources for identified courses is being undertaken. Ensure effective delivery of sessions across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods, for identified courses. Lead and manage the development & employment of assessment activities for identified courses.

YOUR PROFILE

The English and maths Programme Manager will manage a team of teachers who teach English and maths across the college to fulltime, part time and apprentice learners. The post holder will manage the entire learner journey including, enrolment, exam entries and on course performance including managing appropriate interventions to achieve strong progress in English and maths. The role could be the first management position for a teacher, but evidence of having a positive impact on curriculum would be essential. The appointed person will feel comfortable building relationships with staff to create a performance based working environment, led by the college values, which results in a high performing team and high levels of achievement and progression for the students at the college.

Main duties of the job

You will be joining a team of 14 HST & Specialty doctors on an established CESR training programme. Our CESR posts have been created specifically to give doctors with previous experience and a keen interest in Emergency Medicine the opportunity to develop their career through a tailored training programme.

The training takes approximately 4 years to complete depending on previous experience and will culminate in the requisite skills, experience and portfolio to support an application for a Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) through the GMC. The ultimate aim being to establish a career as a fully accredited consultant in Emergency Medicine. Our CESR scheme has been running successfully now for approximately 4 years with current trainees making excellent progress. This post would commence in Spring 2021.

About us

The post is based at Harrogate and District Hospital and has been designed to give the post holder the opportunity to acquire essential competencies in both emergency medicine and relevant allied specialties (paediatrics, acute medicine, anaesthetics and ITU). The programme also includes regular teaching which parallels the Emergency medicine curriculum and HST training consisting of weekly teaching sessions along with self-directed learning/CPD sessions for the equivalent of day per week.

The rota provides 24 hour cover with 4:12 weekends worked on an 11.75 PA basis. There are also additional weekend day time sessions which can be worked on a voluntary basis to enhance earnings. You will be joining a cohesive team led by 8 consultants (6WTE) with a wide breadth of teaching experience and backgrounds.

There will also be the opportunity to deliver teaching as part of the regional training programme and participate in our active research team. Qualifications
Required:

We are looking for experienced nurses/AHPS's to support the delivery of implementation of education projects to support learners and the future workforce of LTHT on a 12 month contract

Successful applicants will be responsible for supporting all learners across LTHT, including, Trainee Nurse Associates, Apprentice Nurses, Transfer to Nursing and Training Clinical Support Workers.

The Training Nursing Associate programme and Apprentice Nursing is delivered in partnership with the Universities across the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. You will be responsible for organising placements to meet governance outcomes and use leadership skills to liaise with the universities and placement areas.

The role will include supporting learners in clinical areas to achieve their clinical educational competencies and to promote the application of theoretical learning into practice. You will also be required to audit the programme and the learners’ roles in clinical areas. You will liaise with the education team and clinical areas to promote an effective learning environment for learners; providing support, education and reviews.

You will also have an opportunity to work alongside the Practice Learning Facilitator team to support undergraduate students by providing education in support of the new PAPP programme at LTHT and PA updates to ensure accountability of educating staff.

There will also be the requirement of implementing and delivering the Care Certificate programme; where you will deliver the academic elements required for the programme and also work alongside staff to ensure that competence is achieved.
