On behalf of a SEN schools in Barnsley, we are looking for a Teaching Assistant to work full time on a temporary basis. The school SEND Co-Ordinator at the school will typically manage a team of TAs and between you all you would move between classes around the school to ensure all pupils and groups who need support are engaged in lessons.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Your responsibilities will be:
- Supporting children in a variety of mainstream classes and subjects on a 1:1 and group basis, enabling all student abilities to access the curriculum
- Collaborating as a team, working with children with additional learning needs, supporting the teaching staff to deliver high-quality lessons
- Managing children's behaviour effectively in line with the school's behaviour management policy
- Engaging with children and encouraging their development
- Ensuring safeguarding of children remains a priority, and promoting a caring and safe learning environment
REQUIREMENTS
As the successful Teaching Assistant you will have:
- Experience working with children aged 11-18; this can be from a school environment but we also encourage applications from people with backgrounds in youth and community work or mentoring and 1:1 tuition
- A qualification in supporting teaching and learning, childcare or a teaching assistant certification eg CACHE Level 3 or NVQ would be advantageous
- A good basic level of English and Maths
- A strong work ethic and a professional attitude
- The motivation to achieve and add value to the school
- A caring and supportive nature to encourage the best out of the children you work with

I am looking for a tutor to teach students on a flexible, 1 to 1 basis who may be reluctant to engage in a more traditional educational setting. Lessons will take place on a virtual platform but will commence face to face tuition in Barnsley once it is safe and appropriate to do so, between 1 to 5 hour per day. Tutors will support learning across a variety of subjects including English, Maths and the Sciences.

Job Responsibilities:

Requirements of the role:

ROLE
On behalf of our client we are currently seeking a Science teacher for a long term opportunity at a school in Barnsley. This is a full-time role starting after the Easter holidays. The role involves teaching general science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a particular emphasis on Biology, and if possible will also include some A Level Biology lessons if you can teach to KS5.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Your responsibilities will be to:
- Plan, prepare and teach appropriate lessons within your specialist subject area of Biology and General Science, enabling all student abilities to access the curriculum
- Support colleagues within your department as required
- Participate in and organise extra-curricular activities such as clubs, social events and outings
- Maintain discipline through employing various classroom management techniques in line with the school's behaviour management policy
- Monitor pupil's progress and keep records on their development, as well as preparing them for qualifications and external examinations
- Attend meetings, parent's evenings and in-service training days as required by the school, helping them in all areas to the best of your ability
REQUIREMENTS
As the successful Teacher of Science you will have:
- A strong knowledge of the science curriculum, particularly Biology, from KS3 to KS4; KS5 knowledge would be advantageous
- A recognised teaching qualification (such as BA QTS, PGCE etc) NB NQTs, QTLS holders and overseas qualified teachers are welcome to apply
