Job Purpose:

To contribute to the management of the school/service and the delivery of quality education through the appropriate involvement of pupils, staff, parents, other agencies and the community. This will be done in accordance with the Authority’s strategic plan, the school/service improvement plan, national priorities, local improvement objectives, in accordance with current legislation and within national and local agreements.

Requirements

The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

Appropriate teaching qualification.

Full GTC (Scotland) registration in the appropriate subject/sector, or be eligible for such registration.

PVG scheme membership – Working with Children.

Responsibilities

The post holder is expected to demonstrate:

Ability to provide strategic direction and guidance to colleagues.

Ability to lead curriculum development and quality assurance.

Ability to teach the full curriculum in the relevant subject (or, in a multi-departmental faculty, at least one subject area) or sector, and to develop the curriculum.

Ability to prioritise the work in the assigned areas of responsibility.

Organisational skills.

Ability to manage and organise classes through planning and preparing for teaching and learning.

Ability to assess, record and report on the work of pupils’ progress to inform a range of teaching and learning approaches.

Ability to prepare pupils for examinations and qualifications.

Ability to contribute towards good order and the wider needs of the school.

Ability to contribute to the school and council planning and improvement processes.

Ability to maintain and develop knowledge and skills and contribute to the professional development of colleagues including probationary and student teachers.

Language Trainers is a successful language training company working with freelance teachers of 70 different languages in hundreds of towns and cities across the world. Students are either in-company or self-funded who need to learn a language at their office or their home for work, family or travel reasons. Founded in 2004, the company’s motto is Any Language, Anytime, Anywhere!

We might have a job for you as a Slovak teacher.

Some details about the course:

 

  • One of our clients would like to have one-to-one Online general Slovak tuition via Zoom.

  • He wishes to have a free 30-mins taster lesson before booking a course.

  • Availability for the taster lesson: (1) Monday - 12:00 - 13:00 (2) Tuesday - 12:00 - 13:00 (3) Wednesday - 12:00 - 13:00 Uk times.

  • Availability for regular lessons: 'I am considering taking training for three hours a week; Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays. I need to take the classes during the day sometime between 10:30 AM and 1:00PM (UK time GMT)'

  • Compensation will be USD  10-15.00 per hour. Teacher's time zone must be similar to the client's one. 

 

Please note that we would give full training on the use of the software but you should:

 

  • be comfortable with teaching online
  • have a headset
  • have a webcam - THIS IS ESSENTIAL
  • have your own computer at home and a fast broadband connection

Ideal teacher should:

  • Be a native speaker of the language OR hold a teaching degree
  • Have experience as a language teacher, translator or interpreter
