Wednesfield High Academy is situated in the north-east area of Wolverhampton. There are approximately 910 students attending the academy which includes 100 who are Sixth Form. This is an extremely exciting time to join us on our journey to becoming an outstanding Academy

We have close links with the University Of Wolverhampton who are our Academy Sponsor.

We are seeking to appoint a talented, energetic and inspiring teacher of Design Technology

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of supporting students and the commitment to raise attainment and achievement in DT.  They will be able to inspire colleagues and students and offer fresh ideas, as well as being resourceful and keen to achieve the highest possible standards for our young people.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a secure understanding about how disadvantaged students in Science and beyond, can make significant progress.

The STE department at Wednesfield High School is highly ambitious, recruiting well at Post-16. The post would be ideal for anyone with ambition, drive and passion who wants to work with a committed team of professional staff.  The Academy is committed to high quality professional development, supporting staff to take the next steps in their professional career.

A relevant degree.

Must be willing to teach DT at key stage 3, 4 and 5.

Passion for DT and enjoy working with young people

Establish successful relationships at all levels Maintain effective communications Demonstrate appropriate inter-personal skills

Ability to prioritise time effectively Self-confidence and presence

Personal impact, commitment, enthusiasm and integrity

Sensitivity to the needs of a diverse academy population

To meet our ambition of delivering an exciting and outstanding educational experience, we are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring Multi Skilled Construction Lecturer, skills in plumbing and air conditioning would be an advantage. Ideally we are seeking a candidate with a proven record of high success and a strong desire to encourage learners to reach their full potential. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to motivate students through the use of varied teaching and learning strategies.

The post holder will be required to teach on a range of multi skilled courses - up to and including Level 3. Applicants will need to demonstrate good working knowledge of a range of construction trades, Health and Safety and the principals of the construction industry. Knowledge of teaching Maths and English to construction learners is desirable.

The post may also include conducting onsite apprenticeship reviews and workplace assessments at varied locations to our growing provision of Level 2 and Level 3 apprentices, so thorough knowledge of the skills required and the ability to travel is essential.

Our construction department is a thriving area in the college and we are looking for applicants who will work to develop and embrace exciting and innovative modes of delivery. We welcome applications from newly qualified teachers who hold a PGCE or DTLLS or industry experienced applicants who are willing to undertake an appropriate teaching qualification.
