Instructor in Hairdressing

7 hours per week
Temporary Maternity cover up to 21 January 2022
£29,857 - £32,850 pro rata (including Distant Islands Allowance)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to instruct on Skills for Work and/or NC Hairdressing courses.

Applicants must be qualified to at least HNC/SVQ3 or equivalent level in Hairdressing, have recent experience of hairdressing which demonstrates practical hairdressing skills, and experience of supporting others in a salon environment. A knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements, along with knowledge of the range of qualifications pertinent to hairdressing is also required.

Main duties of the job

Job responsibilities

You should have an NVQ3 or equivalent in health or social care subject and previous experience as an OT or PT technician/assistant or rehab carer. The successful applicants will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills within a team, and be able to demonstrate good problem solving skills. Therapy Services run a 7-day flexible working service so you need to be able to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of patient groups across the acute wards environment. This will involve working alongside trained occupational therapists, physiotherapists, therapy assistant colleagues and the wider multi-disciplinary team, facilitating the patient journey from admission to discharge. This post offers the potential to develop skills that cross physiotherapy and occupational therapy, as well as further enhancement of core skills in communication, team working and caseload management.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who enjoys working as part of a team, is eager to learn and engage in all aspects of patient rehabilitation and care. Therapy Services run a 7-day flexible working service so you need to be able to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.
