We are looking to appoint an experienced Assistant Accountant on a permanent basis.

Working in an ambitious, entrepreneurial, dynamic and driven environment, you will work closely with both the accounts team (of 3) and the wider business.

Given the nature of the business flexibility and a ‘can-do’ attitude are key qualities you will possess.

Responsibilities will include:

• Operating / overseeing both the sales and purchase ledger.
• Daily banking.
• Resolving customer and supplier queries (where applicable).
• Involvement with VAT returns and CIS scheme.
• Assist in the monthly management accounts.
• Assist with statutory reporting (including audit).
• Ad-hoc duties. Being a small team, in a growing environment, this item is significant.

It would be advantageous to have the following background and skills:

• Previous experience of working within an accounting department, ideally within a similar SME environment.
• Professional qualification (advantageous).
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal combined with ability tailor to best suit the recipient.
• Supervisory / mentoring skills.
• Tenacity!
• Good IT skills, Excel being essential, Xero would be beneficial.

• Producing profit and loss accounts
• Managing accruals and repayments
• Assisting with transactional processing duties (posting and raising invoices, credit control etc.)
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Preparing internal and external reports
• Reconciling bank balances
• Preparing monthly Management Accounts
• Assisting with cash flow forecasting
• Reconciling supplier statements and payments
• Helping to prepare tax returns
• Additional Ad Hoc tasks

Our client is an independent, full-service advertising agency specializing in animal health, pharma, medical devices, diagnostics, and biotech industries. Services include print, interactive, strategy, marketing expertise, and brand development. They are looking for a Bookkeeper to join the team! 

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare invoices for clients using QB templates (both multi-national customers in different currencies and local UK based customers).   
• Extract invoice information from the project management system (workfront) including both hours/labor revenue and out of pocket expenses
• Reconciliation of projects over estimate and follow up with project managers on adjustments and credits
• Update project management system with invoiced amounts
• Follow up on the accounts receivables and ensure timely collection and recording in QB
• Enter all vendor bills into QB and coordinate with finance management to ensure vendors are paid timely (both $ and GBP invoices)
• Reconcile credit card expenses and receipts and ensure entered into QB and billable expenses are entered into project management system (Workfront) timely
• Trained and assist with BI US/other client US billing
• Assist UK Director and/or CFO with special projects

Experience:

• 5-10 years of general bookkeeping experience including A/P and A/R, preferably in a small company (less than 100 employees). 
• Agency or marketing industry experience preferred. 
• Service (labor hours) industry experience required.

• Strong stakeholder management skills
