We look after children and young people of 10-17 years of age, with challenging behaviour / complex needs and children on the periphery of offending.

The Support Worker will be a part of a team offering a comprehensive residential service to children and young people. The aim being to ensure the physical, social and emotional care of the young residents and the establishment.

The Support Worker will be responsible for:

• To act as a key worker to specific children and young people
• To promote structure, boundaries and domestic routines within the home.
• Working in line with children and young people’s care and placement plans.
• Supporting young people with project and group work.

The Support Worker will meet the following criteria:

• Experience of offering a comprehensive residential service to children and young people
• Minimum of an NVQ Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, Children & Young People
• Experience of working with young people in a residential setting

We have full time & part time positions available, covering; sleep ins, shift work, evening and weekends on a rota system.

This role would suit an experienced, qualified, Residential Support Worker or Senior Residential Support Worker

Current Shifts are 7.5hrs and include on a mixed rota basis:

If you are an exceptionally caring person you will want to work in our exceptional new home! You will soon see that we are not a standard nursing home but a bespoke person centred care home and our staffing level reflects that we are able to go the extra mile every day.

Our home provides care for 32 younger adults with a range of complex needs including neuro-disabilities and mental health conditions. We expect nurse support worker ratio to be 1 nurse and 5 or6 support workers to 10 residents, dependant on the individual need of the person in our care.

Hours: Full-Time or Part-Time hours available (Options: 24, 36, 42 or 48 hours available)

Key duties:

We are looking for thoughtful, caring and inspiring people to join our team of support workers.

Provide a high level of personal, physical and emotional care.

Provide personal care such as washing, personal hygiene, and dressing and on occasion, assisting with meal times.

Promote independence, dignity, respect and choice across service users.

Support social and recreational activities; both in and out the home individually, or as part of a group.

Maintain care records; recording observations, activities and assessments.

On occasion, welcome and train new members into your care team.

Requirements:

Previous care experience within a reputable health care provider and NVQ qualifications in Health and Social Care are desirable, but not essential as full training will be given.
