General Areas/Personnel

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe environment in accordance with all Health and Safety, Infection Control, COSHH and other Government Legislation.
  • Assist qualified staff in care delivery as directed.
  • Monitoring and ensuring appropriate use of all stocks and supplies.
  • Ensuring the fabric, general cleanliness and integrity of the building, fixtures and fittings is maintained to a high standard.
  • Ensure you are fully aware and operate within all policies and procedures, regularly updating knowledge of any changes.
  • Responsible for the security of all keys, alarms and communication equipment and that these are carried at the directed times.

We have a fantastic opportunity to be part of the semi-independent provisions in Norfolk. The homes provide accommodation for Looked After Children or young people Leaving Care between the ages 16 -18. We help them to develop their independent living skills and wellbeing, enabling them to be ready to progress fully onto independence post 18.

You must display a passion for working with young people and support each young person in overcoming challenges to help prepare them for adult life. The ideal applicant will have a background in semi-independent accommodation or be experienced in working with young people. To work in this environment, you will need to be committed to making a difference in the lives of young people.

You will need to be reliable, flexible, have good personal relationships and communication skills as well as high professional standards. You will also need to be able to make sound judgments under pressure and respond effectively in a crisis as there is an element of lone working with up to four young people, during evenings and weekends particularly. The ability to calmly and effectively manage challenging behaviours that can be displayed by young people is crucial to the role. Experience in de-escalation will be beneficial to the applicant

Successful applicants will be required to complete the NVQ level 3 in Health Social Care Children and Young People as well as undertaking Norfolk County Council mandatory training.

The role requires the support staff to work a shift pattern and it is essential for staff to sleep in as part of the shift. You will be based in a set location but may be required to cover and to travel to other homes throughout the Norfolk area. You will therefore be required to have your own form of transport. You will be required to work weekends, evenings, nights, and some bank holidays.

Apollo Home Healthcare is seeking experienced Support Workers to assist a lady with complex care needs.

We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Support Workers who are committed and able to work with our service user on a long term, ongoing basis.

You will be passionate about your job, enjoy delivering one to one support and be able to build positive relationships with our service user and her family.

Our service user lives in Loddon with her partner and their young daughter and requires support on a part time basis.

You will be assisting with her day to day living and domestic duties such as shopping and laundry.

She has full mobility and can carry out tasks independently however, she may require prompting, encouragement or a helping hand as she can have episodes of memory loss. You will always be maintaining her safety and security.

When at home, she enjoys cooking, baking and listening to music. Her favourite band is the Foo Fighters – she loves to have a dance along to their songs!

She also likes spending time in her garden in the summer, enjoying the sunshine and having a water fight and lots of fun with her partner and daughter.

It is important for her care team include her daughter in the things she enjoys and allow them to enjoy fun activities together.

This role starts at 5:15am to ensure that Support Workers are present to supervise her daughter whilst her partner attends work.

Mobile Support Worker

We are looking to add staff to our mobile team, you will work across all of our care services so if you want a varied role that incorporates community services and residential services this position is for you.
