About Us!

The Mersey Regional Burns Unit provides specialist care throughout the North West, reaching as far as North Wales and the Isle of Man, treating patients with severe burns, and working in close proximity to the Critical Care Department.

Ward 4D was the first within the Trust to achieve GOLD Standard for the QCAT Assessment.

The Unit is comprised of 12 beds; 4 High Dependency Cubicles, 4 Single Cubicles and a 4 Bedded Area. Ward 4D works closely with Ward 3A, the Plastic Surgery Trauma Unit to provide 5 star patient care to all of our visitors.

We have 3 Theatres for Plastic Surgery, 1 for Burns and also 1 for day-case skin work, The Holbrook Unit at Whiston Hospital. As well as, 6 day-case Theatre sessions per week at St Helens Hospital.
