Main duties of the job

Within the trust you will have the opportunity to work alongside many specialities in paediatrics including outpatients clinic, Paediatric Day surgery, Childrens Community Nursing team and the Paediatric Diabetes Team.

Rotation across sites and specialities is encouraged to enhance and develop your skills and experiences.

We offer a 6 month probationary period with two weeks supernumerary period (option to extend if needed), and a full trust induction inclusive of training specific to paediatrics. We encourage and support staff to maintain and enhance skills by offering programmes such as BLS,PILS,APLS and days catered towards the safe stabilisation of the critically ill child run alongside Embrace. Other specific, enhanced programmes are encouraged.

Post: Staff Nurse (Band 5) Day Surgery/ELIPSE unit (Ward 20/B16)

We have an excellent opportunity for qualified Band 5 Staff Nurses to join the Day surgery Team

We are very proud of the high level of care we provide to our patients which is reflected in our patient feedback

We provide pre and post-operative care to patients undergoing General Surgery, Urology, Dental, ENT, Orthopaedic, Gynaecology, Cardiology, Vascular and Breast Surgery, acute surgical and trauma patients. We also treat patients under the care of the Endocrinology, Gastroenterology and Neurological Teams.

Presently the ward opens 07:00 – 20:00hrs Monday to Saturday

As the successful applicant you will have experience working within an acute hospital setting, be adaptable, able to work in a fast paced environment and be able to meet changing working patterns and caseload, working independently as well as within the team. You will have good IT skills.

You will enjoy good support and supervision with the ward team have a commitment to CPD along with the opportunity to work with our friendly and enthusiastic team.

The successful applicant will be expected to work variable shifts. Staff must be flexible with shifts to enhance the care we provide

Job overview

To be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation ofevidence based individualised plan of care. The post holder will also assist in themanagement and organisation of nursing work in the ward/ department

Staff Nurse post- full and part time available and flexible working available.

Working cross site between Calderdale and Huddersfield looking after patients under the age of 16 years with medical and surgical needs as well as high dependency care.

Main duties of the job

Within the trust you will have the opportunity to work alongside many specialities in paediatrics including outpatients clinic, Paediatric Day surgery, Childrens Community Nursing team and the Paediatric Diabetes Team.

Rotation across sites and specialities is encouraged to enhance and develop your skills and experiences.

We offer a 6 month probationary period with two weeks supernumerary period (option to extend if needed), and a full trust induction inclusive of training specific to paediatrics. We encourage and support staff to maintain and enhance skills by offering programmes such as BLS,PILS,APLS and days catered towards the safe stabilisation of the critically ill child run alongside Embrace. Other specific, enhanced programmes are encouraged.
