We currently have vacancies for full or part time registered nurses, working within the multi-disciplinary team on Mary Robertson Ward, South Petherton Community Hospital.
About us
South Petherton Community Hospital opened in June 2011 - a state of the art building found in the heart of the beautiful South Somerset countryside. The ward is has a mix of single and double rooms, all with en-suite facilities and balconies, as well as communal areas for patients.
Staff are provided with excellent changing facilities and a staff room with access to outside seating located on the balcony.
About you
Successful applicants will be responsible for all aspects of patient care, from admission through to discharge, using a computerised record keeping system. You will have the opportunity to attend family meetings, undertake ward rounds and be involved in multi-disciplinary team meetings. These all contribute to the decision making process, goal setting and care planning that facilitates a safe discharge home from Hospital. You will provide general nursing care to all of your patients, ensuring they are treated with dignity and respect. You will be able to promote a safe environment within the unit and act as a shift coordinator as required.
You must be a registered nurse who is able to communicate at all levels, have high clinical standards and have the ability to work as part of a team. Previous stroke experience is desirable however not essential as training will be provided wherever needed.
You would be required to work flexibly on an internal shift rotation, working both days and nights over a seven day period, including bank holidays. In return you will receive enhanced payments for working unsocial hours, a generous holiday entitlement and pension scheme.
Preceptorship nurses are also encouraged to apply, and a full preceptorship programme is offered by the Trust.
