As a geoscience software engineer, you’ll play a vital role in the support, improvement and on-going development of our cutting-edge uniquely designed software, used by our scientific teams to analyse and enhance subsurface data. Working within the Development team the Geoscience Software Engineer will ensure efficiency, ease of use, reliability and scalability of core software, whilst maintaining libraries, shared components and technologies. You will also provide support to internal and external users.
QualificationsQualifications
Required skills:
- Master’s degree or higher in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or another field with a programming emphasis, or relevant work experience
- Strong Python fluency, with emphasis on 2D and 3D graphics, numerical computing and geospatial data analysis
- Knowledge of modern cloud infrastructure, including hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Innovative mindset
- Highly motivated and eager to learn new technologies
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred skills:
- Familiarity with high performance scientific software development (MPI, C, Fortran)
