Comprising of Anglian Water, Costain, Farrans, Jacobs and Mott MacDonald Bentley, we will operate as a fully integrated and collaborative Alliance with the aim of allowing our water resource to move more freely across the Anglian region by embracing innovation and new ways of working.

By delivering a smart and resilient transfer system through the delivery of pipelines, pumping stations and associated structures, we will be capable of delivering large scale strategic assets and complex systems to our current asset base by ensuring that these are digitally enabled.

This role is for our Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) with Anglian Water, based in Peterborough.

What will you be doing as our new Site Engineer?

Our Site Engineers will be critical to the successful delivery of the Strategic Pipeline Alliance, reporting to the Senior Site Engineer and Site Agent. You’ll be managing the day to day quality assurance, including surveying, setting out duties, quality checks and approvals. You’ll also be assisting the site management teams with all aspects of health, safety and environmental management.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee quality control and assist in the implementation of SPA’s safety, health, environmental and quality performance.
• Assist the QS with quantities and project progress
• Support the Senior Site Engineer and Site Agent with day to day running of the site.
• Act under the Site Manager as a supervisor on site for specialist subcontractors.
• Transfer digital and paper data/drawings onto site, and back into digital models enabling accurate and auditable record keeping.

The M1 J13-16 SM ALR delivery team is expanding to accommodate additional workload generated by an early extension of the scheme from junction 15 to junction 16 (a further 20km of open work site). We are looking for highly motivated Section Engineer with an ambition to work on a challenging infrastructure scheme. The Smart Motorway Programme will be a mainstay of Costain Highways Sector workload for the next 10 years following the successful award of the Smart Motorway Alliance in April. This is a great opportunity to gain experience of the exciting and dynamic projects the Alliance has to offer. The role on the M1 J13-16 SM ALR scheme will include a variety of different disciplines including earthworks, piling, FRC, drainage, pavements, structural steelwork and vehicle restraint systems.

Your responsibilities will inlcude the following...

• Managing the site engineering team and delegating tasks
• Mentoring and enhancing the skills of junior engineers
• Accountable for delivering the immediate construction programme of the section
• Daily co-ordination of sub-contractors
• Ensuring all works comply with highways and project specification and drawings
• Ensuring all works are delivered in accordance with approved ITP
• Developing and reviewing safe systems of work (RAMS, permits, etc)
• Ensuring all activities on site are recorded through daily diaries and photographs
• Identifying and communicating technical issues on site
• Attend daily co-ordination and weekly planning meetings
• Operate surveying equipment and train junior engineers

You will be expected to demonstrate the following...

• Civil Engineering related qualification (HNC, HND, BSc MSc, BEng, MEng)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience delivering infrastructure projects in a site role
• Site Management Safety Training Scheme SMSTS
• Other training such as IPAF, TWS, TWC, AP, First Aid, etc to be listed on CV.
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Experience of working in a highly collaborative and team orientated environment
• Experience in some or all: earthworks, piling, FRC, drainage, pavements, structural steelwork and vehicle restraint systems

Our client is seeking an experienced field based Service Engineer to join them on a permanent basis to be based 5 miles south of Leicester travelling to customer sites across the region.

To be considered for this Field Service Engineer role, you will have previous and recent service engineering experience working on construction / plant machinery within the JCB portfolio. You will carry out plant machinery diagnostics, servicing and repair in this customer facing site visit based role.

As Field Service Engineer, you will be a strong ambassador for your employer and will build strong business relationships with your customer and promoting a professional company image at all times, meeting and exceeding customer expectation. You will have a portfolio of technical / mechanical training certificates and will have proven relevant plant industry servicing experience ideally within the JCB range of products. Consideration may be given to those with plant industry servicing experience from a dealership background.

You will have a full driving licence as well as a forklift and trailer licence.
