My client, a regional tier 1 contractor, is looking for a freelance Site Engineer for a £20m commercial development in Northampton, starting in February.
The duration is 34 weeks and the role will include reporting to the Project Manager, conducting QA/ checking, managing subcontractors and setting out for earthworks, drainage, foundations and steel frame.
Additionally, the successful candidate will also be responsible for:
* Maintaining line & level control
* Measurements & Calculations
* Interpretation of technical drawings
* Providing technical assistance to the project team where required
* Coordinating the technical aspects of package handovers
* Checking the accuracy of sub-contractors work where required
Rate - £250 - £300 per day

What will you be doing as our new Site Engineer?
Our Site Engineers will be critical to the successful delivery of the Strategic Pipeline Alliance, reporting to the Senior Site Engineer and Site Agent. You’ll be managing the day to day quality assurance, including surveying, setting out duties, quality checks and approvals. You’ll also be assisting the site management teams with all aspects of health, safety and environmental management.

The M1 J13-16 SM ALR delivery team is expanding to accommodate additional workload generated by an early extension of the scheme from junction 15 to junction 16 (a further 20km of open work site). We are looking for highly motivated Section Engineer with an ambition to work on a challenging infrastructure scheme. The Smart Motorway Programme will be a mainstay of Costain Highways Sector workload for the next 10 years following the successful award of the Smart Motorway Alliance in April. Our client is seeking an experienced field based Service Engineer to join them on a permanent basis to be based 5 miles south of Leicester travelling to customer sites across the region.
To be considered for this Field Service Engineer role, you will have previous and recent service engineering experience working on construction / plant machinery within the JCB portfolio. You will carry out plant machinery diagnostics, servicing and repair in this customer facing site visit based role.
As Field Service Engineer, you will be a strong ambassador for your employer and will build strong business relationships with your customer and promoting a professional company image at all times, meeting and exceeding customer expectation. You will have a portfolio of technical / mechanical training certificates and will have proven relevant plant industry servicing experience ideally within the JCB range of products. Consideration may be given to those with plant industry servicing experience from a dealership background.
You will have a full driving licence as well as a forklift and trailer licence.
