This successful manufacturing company are looking to hire a qualified electro/mechanical service engineer to work on HVAC equipment.

You will be responsible for visiting clients on site to service and repair booster sets, Pressurisation units, Circulation pumps, Expansion vessels & Inverter drives.

  • Undertake all allocated HVAC reactive and planned maintenance tasks to a high standard
  • Fault finding and repairs

Most appointments will be midlands based, but you will be expected to travel to other parts of the UK when required.

About you:

The successful candidate will ideally live within a 30-mile radius of the workshop in Leicester city centre, have worked in a similar job role and be conversant with heating and chilled water systems and their operation.  You will have: 

  • NVQ or City and Guilds in an HVAC-related field or equivalent

MAINTENANCE ENGINEER - COVENTRY

Overall Purpose

To ensure that Coventry’s machines, lasers, presses and ancillary equipment are properly maintained, maximising the site’s overall equipment efficiency. To play a key role in the introduction of a system of Preventative Maintenance that will maximise output, reducing downtime and minimising company expenditure. To play a key role in ensuring the site is properly maintained and a safe environment for its workers.

Reporting to the Head of Tooling Operations

Responsibilities

MAINTENANCE ENGINEER – COVENTRY

  •  The efficient planning of all machinery, laser and press maintenance.
  •  Attend to Machinery and/or Installation Breakdowns, assessing problem,   formulating  countermeasure and implementing fix whilst providing realistic time estimates to the team for planning purposes.
  • Site maintenance.
  • Assist in ensuring the site is a safe working environment.
  • Assist in the introduction and installation of new machinery and equipment.
  • Assist in Recruitment, train and mentoring of Maintenance Apprentices/Trainees
  • Supervision and Control of the Maintenance Section.
  • Prioritise workloads within the Maintenance Section by liaison with the Supervisory   Team.
  • Recommend improvements to aid operational efficiency or safety.
  • Assist the company achieve its KPI targets by maximising the overall efficiency and   effectiveness of Equipment.
  • Supervision and liaison with outside subcontractors.
  • Professional communication with and control of subcontractors, ensuring compliance   with H&S Policy.
  • Assist the company in the elimination of waste and the reduction of electricity costs.
  • Assist in continuous improvement activities throughout the business.
  • Help drive and develop environmental and H&S processes and procedures within   Marrill, instilling a zero tolerance culture to non-compliance with H&S.
  • Attend daily shift briefs to understand key issues and priorities for the week.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Gateshead operations (as well as   Coventry), Providing support where necessary

Skills and Attributes

  •  Proven leadership and management skills, optimising team performance, prioritising  task and organising resources.
  • Good understanding of costs and budgets
  • First class communication and planning skills.
  • Experience of Maintenance planning systems, excel and email.
  • PLCs

Qualifications and Experience

  • Electrical biased HND or similar qualification.
  • HV Electrical qualification.
  • Experience of 5 axis CNC machines, lasers and presses
  • Knowledge of H&S requirements.
  • A track record of success and achievement within similar organisations
  • Experience of fault finding on Electrical and Mechanical systems.
  • Extensive Experience of Tier 1/2 Manufacturing environment

The Service Engineer will play a key role in the build, install and maintenance of renewable gas refuelling infrastructure for the company's clients who own and operate fleets of either trucks or buses. Location:
The Service Engineer will be based at the office in Colwick, Nottingham but you will primarily be required to work at client sites at various locations throughout the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Building, installing and servicing gas refuelling infrastructure at client sites according to bespoke project plans and desired timeframes
  • Maintaining the functioning of all components of the refuelling station
  • Monitoring the desired output and refuelling capability to support the daily requirements of client's fleet operation
  • Improving the overall performance of any required equipment and component parts
  • Delivering detailed reports on each of the stations and planning for the next service visit in line with manufacturer instructions and company policy
  • Ordering parts that may need replacement in advance for each refuelling station so the day to day operation of any fleet is not delayed
  • Work closely with the Operations team to deliver company projects, building of specific products and provide general support to ensure the successful completion of all ad hoc activity

This role is a full time position in accordance with the company's normal working week
The on-site hours of work are however flexible and may require you to work additional hours when authorised and necessitated by the needs of the business, including weekends, on public holidays or at times outside of the normal working week.
The role also requires flexibility to support the on call rota outside the normal hours of work.
Qualifications:
It would be desirable for the Service Engineer to have some production or mechanical engineering experience. Qualifications in English and Maths are required as a minimum and any further qualification that combines an engineering subject with practical experience is also particularly useful.
Skills:
  • You must have the ability to plan the servicing work in advance so as to negate the downtime of any given refuelling station
  • You must be able to work in teams and share the workload as some of the work is conducted at a fast pace
  • You must make detailed reports on all the work that is done on each station
  • You must ensure that any parts that need replacing are available in stock
  • You must work at all times on the continuous improvement and performance of the refuelling infrastructure
  • You must conduct safety checks on all refuelling infrastructure at regular intervals
  • You must keep an inventory of the equipment required for any repair work required
  • You must keep up to date with the latest components and manufacturers guidelines that are available in the market
  • You must inspect all station infrastructure and make reports for the Technical Manager as to what may be required for an efficient operation
  • You must have the ability to multitask, be prepared to be 'hands on' and work as part of a small service team
  • You must be passionate and self-motivated
  • You must understand and embody the company's core values
  • You must own a clean full driving license

Work experience
Having some experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment would be advantageous. Any work related activity to demonstrate the necessary skills to understand and deliver the company's service and maintenance work would be ideal.

The successful candidate will ideally live within a 30-mile radius of the workshop in Leicester city centre, have worked in a similar job role and be conversant with heating and chilled water systems and their operation.  You will have: 

  • NVQ or City and Guilds in an HVAC-related field or equivalent 
  • Maintenance / PPM background in maintenance 
  • Health and safety training 
  • Full UK Driving licence
  • Great communication skills and experienced in dealing with customers
