You will be based from Leicester but will be expected to travel to client sites. To be considered for this role you will have previous and recent generator service engineering experience.

As Generator Service Engineer, you will carry out diagnostics, servicing and repair in the workshop and on site with customers. You will build strong business relationships with your customer and will promote a professional company image at all times, meeting and exceeding customer expectation.

As well as generating servicing and repair, It is also essential that you have serviced & repaired other types of construction / plant machinery to be considered for this role. You will have proven relevant industry servicing experience. You will have a full driving licence as well as a forklift licence.

• Building, installing and servicing gas refuelling infrastructure at client sites according to bespoke project plans and desired timeframes
• Maintaining the functioning of all components of the refuelling station
• Monitoring the desired output and refuelling capability to support the daily requirements of client's fleet operation
• Improving the overall performance of any required equipment and component parts
• Delivering detailed reports on each of the stations and planning for the next service visit in line with manufacturer instructions and company policy
• Ordering parts that may need replacement in advance for each refuelling station so the day to day operation of any fleet is not delayed
• Work closely with the Operations team to deliver company projects, building of specific products and provide general support to ensure the successful completion of all ad hoc activity

• You must have the ability to plan the servicing work in advance so as to negate the downtime of any given refuelling station
• You must be able to work in teams and share the workload as some of the work is conducted at a fast pace
• You must make detailed reports on all the work that is done on each station
• You must ensure that any parts that need replacing are available in stock
• You must work at all times on the continuous improvement and performance of the refuelling infrastructure
• You must conduct safety checks on all refuelling infrastructure at regular intervals
• You must keep an inventory of the equipment required for any repair work required
• You must keep up to date with the latest components and manufacturers guidelines that are available in the market
• You must inspect all station infrastructure and make reports for the Technical Manager as to what may be required for an efficient operation

We are looking to expand our highly skilled team of service engineers.  The role includes installing, repairing and servicing machinery for clients throughout the UK.  While we are based in Leicester, we would also encourage applications from engineers based further south.

The successful candidate will be organised, efficient, have good communication skills and will have gone through a mechanical or electrical engineering apprenticeship.  A valid UK driving license is essential.  Experience within the woodworking machinery industry is highly desirable but not essential.

Responsible for the compliance elements of the site infrastructure and building. Managing the site CMMS in support of the electrical and mechanical technicians. Support and execution of capital projects within the sites CAPEX AOP budget.

Other key areas of focus are:

• Management of the site Computerised Maintenance Management system (CMMS) as - to include all annual inspections (LOLER, PSSR200, COMAH)

• Work alongside Mechanical and Electrical Engineers in the management of technician workload to ensure all PM activities are completed on time and in full.

• Manage all non-production maintenance activities:

• Buildings and services

• Fork lift trucks

• Storage racking

• Cooling and chiller systems

• HVAC and LEV systems

• Water systems ACoP L8 - legionella

• Production and maintenance of department KPIs to measure

  • PM completion rate to plan

  • Schedule adherence to weekly plan

  • PM backlog

  • Safety incident close out rate

  • Spend against budget

• First line control of maintenance expenditure against operating budget.

• Control of contractors on site and the control of the selection process for new contractors to site.

• Induction of new contractors to site and registration for future reference.

• Management of contracts to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance for the site at all times.

• Cost reduction focus through:

• Energy management projects / initiatives

• Consolidation of contracted services

• Use of best industry practices.

• Operation and custody of the site Permit to work system on a day to day basis, supported by the Engineering and HSE Managers on site.

• Ensure all items are tagged and recorded under, LOLER, PSSR2000, DSEAR, L8, CDM and all other relevant regulations applied to site.

• Support both the HAZOP and FMEA processes used on site become the focal point for technical and site knowledge as required with respect to site services and plant items.

• Conversant with all current and proposed regulations likely to be applied to the site and its processes.

Who we are looking for:

• HND or above qualified engineer with a minimum of 5 years experience in a maintenance / facilities activity– Experience in chemical processing environment would be an advantage.

• Be capable of working on all key systems (applicable to their trades) within the LCD operating environment. This includes for example: Fire deluge system; effluent plant; compressor systems; key equipment within the filling areas and manufacturing plants and any other equipment not mentioned or installed in the future.
