Logistics People are looking for a Secruity Guard in Appleton for Logistics Secruity. 

Purpose of the role

The overall purpose of the role is to support Site Operations by reducing the risk of criminality to buildings, assets, employees and visitors.

The role may include but is not limited to the following.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREAS

Respond, report and make a record of all incidents on site.

Conduct regular internal and external patrols of the site.

Ensure that any goods vehicles (deliveries or collections) entering or leaving the site are logged accurately on the relevant PC System.

Maintain a close liaison with Site contacts, other colleagues, 24 hour CCTV Controllers and the Security Manager in relation to any incidents.

To help support the reduction in accidents and H&S breaches and minimise the risks to employees and visitors.

Monitor, operate and communicate using all forms of equipment (Phones, intercoms, radios, email).

Assist in site evacuations by following the procedures outlined in the Fire Evacuation Plan.

Always maintain strict Data Protection (GDPR) standards, adhering to the policies and procedures put in place in relation to monitoring, recording, extracting and sharing of information.

Remain flexible and to carry out, where possible, reasonable instructions issued by the site management team

THE KNOWLEDGE OR SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE 

 Good standard of education including good numeracy and literacy skills - E

The ability to write clear and accurate Incident Reports. - E

Proven interpersonal and communicating skills including a clear and concise telephone manner and the ability to communicate at all levels.   - E

Recent experience of working within a team environment and relevant experience of working alone and setting own priorities. - E

Have excellent observational skills.- E

Have excellent people and Conflict Management skills. - E

Can respond quickly and appropriately to situations or incidents on site. -E

Must have good attention to detail and ability the to multitask when required. - E

Recent experience using Windows IT systems (Word, Excel and Outlook) - E

Working 07:00 – 19:00 Weekends

The Role of Security Officer is to provide a security service at the working location which is in line with the Assignment Instructions set by our client / customer in order to protect their employees, property and other assets.
Although demanding, a Security Officer role with Securitas will allow you to demonstrate your exemplary customer service skills as you engage with customers, clients and visitors throughout each shift, whilst remaining alert to security issues and keeping everyone safe.
The main duties and responsibilities are as follows: -
Protection of Property and Premises
  • Prevent and deter unauthorised access to site. Monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms and CCTV as appropriate.
  • Conduct external and internal security patrols as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
  • Provide traffic control and apply parking restrictions as required.
  • Carry out routine tests of security equipment where appropriate.
  • Manage keys and perform locking and unlocking duties as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
  • Ensure any equipment provided by the customer and Securitas is managed in accordance with procedures detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
  • Maintain all logbooks and records as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
  • Issue visitor/contractor passes in accordance with the Assignment Instructions.
  • Deal with lost property in accordance with the Assignment Instructions.

Health and Safety
  • To provide support, guidance and information to all staff, visitors and contractors whilst ensuring safeguarding of the premises.
  • Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times. Record and report all faults, health and safety hazards and unsafe working practices to supervisor/manager. Report and record all accidents in accordance with the Assignment
    Instructions.
  • Ensure all walkways and emergency escape routes are always kept clear.
  • Report any usage of First Aid equipment and shortfalls in the contents of First Aid boxes.
  • Notify the Securitas Operations Centre (SOC) in the event of any emergencies and follow the instructions given.
  • Investigate the cause of all fire alarm activations.

Prevent Loss and Waste
  • Report instances of property at risk of being lost, stolen, damaged and/or vandalised.
  • During patrols, switch off unnecessary lights and close windows.

Prevent and Deter Crime
  • Operate radios, pagers, clocking equipment and any other physical security equipment used on site.
  • Operate customer's 'stop and search' policies when required.
  • Carry out initial investigations and report both verbally and in writing on incidents, suspicious activities, objects and vehicles.

Customer Service
  • Display an outstanding level of customer service.
  • Take responsibility for problems that staff and visitors may have.
  • Display the highest standard of personal presentation and smartness of uniform to maintain the image of Securitas and the customer.
  • Answer telephone calls professionally and in accordance with the Assignment Instructions.

Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities for improving practices and processes, and enter the details in the Ideas Book.

Other responsibilities
  • Book on at the beginning of each shift and make check calls in accordance with Company policy.
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed in a timely fashion and conduct effective handover procedures.
  • Undertake any other duties as requested by Branch Management.

Ensuring the security and safety of Her Majesty’s Courts and Tribunal Services’ buildings, employees, legal professionals and visitors.

You will be responsible for protecting the security and safety of the identified buildings and personnel at a busy client site. You will ensure that assigned tasks are completed in a professional and timely manner and meet relevant legislations, ensuring the needs of all internal and external customers are fulfilled.

Your main responsibilities may also include:

  • Control of access doors and gates to ensure that only authorised persons and vehicles are permitted access.
  • Conducting entry searches of all persons entering buildings via public entrances (or any member of the public entering via any other entrance) by means of archway metal detectors, hand-held metal detectors and visual searches of bags, parcels and containers to ensure that no weapons, explosive devices or other prohibited items are brought on to the premises, including undertaking a test of the search of equipment at the beginning of every day.
  • Prevention of and attending to and dealing with security incidents, including undertaking searches and ensuring the correct and agreed evacuation procedures are followed by all members of the public in the event of an emergency including the identification of a suspect package or a fire.
  • Carrying out regular patrols of the building and its environment as required.
  • Acting as a first line support to employees and site visitors, providing a professional and friendly service.
  • Issue and collection of visitors and contractors’ passes and escort of visitors and contractors.
  • Preventing or excluding persons from secure parts of the building or environment.
  • Operation of and monitoring CCTV equipment.
  • Supervision of contractors and cleaners etc. in secure areas.
  • Regular checks to ensure that security/safety equipment is fully operational, including fire alarms, personal attack alarms, archway metal detectors, hand-held metal detectors.
  • Opening up the building at the start of the day.
  • Closing down securing the building at the end of the day and setting the alarm System and acting as key holder for emergency call out purposes.
  • Maintaining security of keys and control of issue to authorised personnel.
  • Service area barrier control and traffic management.

Health & Safety duties include:

  • Communicate regularly with staff through formal and informal channels on safety matters to ensure that there is a free flow of ideas and that morale remains high.
  • Ensure that the OCS safety image is reflected positively through your actions and those of your colleagues.

 

To succeed in this role, you will need the following:

  • Willing to travel between sites in Taunton, Yeovil and Exeter
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Door Supervisor SIA licence - essential
  • Experience of working within the Security Industry – advantageous
  • CCTV licence - advantageous but training can be provided
  • Driving licence and use of own vehicle is required

Description

Logistics People are looking for a Secruity Guard in Appleton for Logistics Secruity. 

Purpose of the role

The overall purpose of the role is to support Site Operations by reducing the risk of criminality to buildings, assets, employees and visitors.

The role may include but is not limited to the following.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREAS

Respond, report and make a record of all incidents on site.

Conduct regular internal and external patrols of the site.

Ensure that any goods vehicles (deliveries or collections) entering or leaving the site are logged accurately on the relevant PC System.

Maintain a close liaison with Site contacts, other colleagues, 24 hour CCTV Controllers and the Security Manager in relation to any incidents.

To help support the reduction in accidents and H&S breaches and minimise the risks to employees and visitors.

Monitor, operate and communicate using all forms of equipment (Phones, intercoms, radios, email).

Assist in site evacuations by following the procedures outlined in the Fire Evacuation Plan.

Always maintain strict Data Protection (GDPR) standards, adhering to the policies and procedures put in place in relation to monitoring, recording, extracting and sharing of information.

Remain flexible and to carry out, where possible, reasonable instructions issued by the site management team

THE KNOWLEDGE OR SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE 

 Good standard of education including good numeracy and literacy skills - E

The ability to write clear and accurate Incident Reports. - E

Proven interpersonal and communicating skills including a clear and concise telephone manner and the ability to communicate at all levels.   - E

Recent experience of working within a team environment and relevant experience of working alone and setting own priorities. - E
