We are looking to recruit a new member to the Portering & Security Department at University Dorset Hospitals Foundation Trust within the Poole Hospital Site, to assist in all aspects of the Portering role. 37.5 hours per week relief porter, working as part of a rota which will include weekend, evening and night shifts.
This is a busy and demanding role, which will involve a variety of tasks including but not limited to the following:
Patient Transfers
Security Response
Transporting of medical and non medical equipment and furniture
Transportation and exchange of gas cylinders
Waste collection, disposal and recycling duties
The successful applicant should be able to manage own workload and work with minimal supervision. Self-motivated individuals who can integrate quickly with a highly successful team are key factors of the post. Excellent team skills and flexibility are essential combined with strong interpersonal skills. You will need to be physically able to cope with the demands of this role including the high level of patients transfers in addition to the delivery and collection of equipment used by medical and non medical staff each day.
