School Business Manager Jobs Education Requirements

An HND or degree in any subject is usually required, but qualifications in English, maths, business studies, finance, administration, IT or management may be an advantage. Good organisational, IT, numeracy, communications and planning skills are crucial and for some roles, previous office administration experience is desired. To progress to senior positions in higher or further education institutions, a related higher degree may help. You may be able to start in a secretary job without a degree, mainly dealing with admin duties. Generally five GCSEs including maths and English are needed, then with experience, you could progress to an office manager job.
