Salvation Army Jobs Overview

The Salvation Army is an international Christian charitable organisation, with the ethos of a quasi-military that aims to help many people in need, including victims of domestic violence, children in poverty, the unemployed, and those affected by natural disasters, war and human trafficking. The Salvation Army Family Tracing Service, which was established in 1885, has helped thousands of people to be reunited with their families over the years. The Salvation Army was founded by William Booth and his wife Catherine, in 1865, in the east end of London, then an area notorious for its poverty and slums. Today, in the UK alone, it has over 50,000 members and 4,000 paid employees. A wide range of Salvation Army vacancies are currently available, from cleaners to directors.

Salvation Army Jobs Education Requirements

Some Salvation Army vacancies, such as cleaner jobs and retail jobs, need no academic qualifications and the specifications for the job are clearly set out in the application form. Other jobs are graduate level and require a degree or equivalent, as well as the appropriate experience.
