La Petite Academy of Fort Worth is hiring a Cook for our childcare center! This position will typically be from 7:15-3:30pm, Monday through Friday, and will require driving the bus.

Join our talented team, where we inspire children to be lifelong learners! Through our play based curriculum, our affectionate and loving staff ensures that our children are imparted with the knowledge to succeed. 

The Food Specialist is responsible for overall food preparation for the School’s enrolled children. May be responsible for the oversight of a group of children and be responsible for their health and safety. Must be adaptable to menu changes and be able to meet meal and snack schedules. Ensures safe food preparations and proper sanitation methods are used and maintains a safe kitchen/pantry area.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Create home-style, nutritional meal plans in the boundaries of their school's menu and budget, as well as state and federal requirements.
  • Prepare meals/snacks for children and staff. Distribute food to the classrooms following appropriate health and safety guidelines, and policies.
  • Follow the daily menu provided by the Director which incorporates, USDA, licensing and/or health department regulations.
  • Maintain inventory of food and supplies and order more when needed.
  • Assists in classrooms as needed as an Assistant Teacher/Floater.
  • Are caring, compassionate and love what they do


Job Requirements:

  • Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals, preferably in a childcare facility
  • An understanding of all current state and local regulations
  • Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work
  • A High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record

The Safety Manager is responsible for managing Regional safety functions to ensure all safety practices are within compliance of company, industry and regulatory standards in the specified Region.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Completes Safety Audits on a continual basis at terminals within their Region.
  • Conduct Safety Blitzes with the Railroad to audit entire facilities on a comprehensive basis.
  • Correct safety exceptions on the spot and determine discipline working with the Terminal Manager.
  • Travel to facilities where safety has become a concern, thus intensifying the audit process.
  • Works with the Director of Safety and VP of Safety to edit and introduce new safety policies for the entire company.
  • Plans, organizes and manages to ensure that the work is accomplished in a safe consistent manner within organizational requirements.
  • Ensures that employees are properly trained and in compliance in both operational and safety related items.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Safety, Terminal Managers, Assistant Vice Presidents and Vice Presidents in order to formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives of the Safety Department.
  • Monitors operations to ensure that Terminal Managers comply with safety rules and government regulations.
  • Promotes safe work activities by conducting safety audits, attending company safety meetings.
  • Conducts investigations to determine causes of accidents and to improve safety procedures.
