Band 2 – Unity Sexual Health Reception team
22 hours permanent post including 3.5 hour commitment to Community Clinics when re-opened
Please note each post will include working one Saturday in four at Unity Sexual Health (Central Clinic)
An opportunity has arisen within our reception Team for a permanent Band 2 Reception Clerk. This post will work under the supervision of the Team Leader at Unity Sexual Health (Central Clinic) and the Community Clinic Coordinator with hours spread over a five day week including working 1 Saturday in 4. Shifts can vary from week to week.
As the post holder you will provide a comprehensive, efficient and reliable administrative service working on Reception and the single point of access telephone line, handling patient enquiries and bookings for clinics being offered within Unity Sexual Health. Additional roles include maintenance of up to date patient records, assembly of self-test kits and support of other Departments within Unity Sexual Health. Training will be provided within the team for Main Reception, Telephone call handling and running your Community Clinic.
Requirements:
Previous experience in Reception/Public facing areas to ensure a smooth service would be preferred.
Good communication and interpersonal skills dealing with a variety of people both patients and clinical staff.
Must be proficient with MS Office software including Word, Outlook, Excel and able to learn new systems quickly such as Millcare our patient registration system.
Must possess attention to detail.
Flexible – within hours worked where the service demands and able to multi-task and prioritise work.

You must have excellent communication skills, be a good timekeeper, able to work under pressure and enjoy working as part of a team. Previous medical receptionist experience is essential, as is knowledge of EMIS. Applicants must have a good general standard of education including Maths and English, and the sensitivity to assist our patients in a kind, efficient and confidential manner.

KEY TASKS
To maintain the confidentiality of patient records at all times.
To welcome patients upon arrival to the practice.
To arrange new/follow-up appointments for patients, in accordance with the appointments system.
