This ia a part-time, fixed-term Receptionist role for 16 hours per week (Thursday and Friday) up to and including the 28/02/2022
We are looking for individuals who have excellent communication, organisational and administrative skills and are able to work to deadlines and strive in a busy professional environment, providing excellent customer service at all times.
You must have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to prioritise work effectively and efficiently. The role involves liaising with members of the team within the Ophthalmology Department and the wider hospital.
As the posts deals with patients, relatives and healthcare professionals on the phone, and face to face, applicants will be expected to have a courteous and efficient telephone manner.
Training will be given on the hospital administration system, Millennium and the Ophthalmology system Medsoft. Administration experience would be preferred.

1 Reception Duties
a) Liaise with patients on the telephone and face to face
b) Handling general enquiries, explaining surgery procedures, making new and follow up appointments using various digital systems including Emis (training will be given)
c) Updating clinical records including Covid vaccination administration
d) Print repeat prescriptions in line with the practice repeat prescribing policy.
e) E-learning and external training opportunities

g) Sending records back to NHS England
h) Update patient records as necessary, for example, change of address and phone number.
i) Leave reception area tidy and ready for incoming colleagues or ready for the next day. Ensure information regarding unsolved problems or urgent problems are passed over to a colleague.
