Quantity Surveyor needed for Yorkshire based Civil's and Earthworks contractor.

Head of Estimating, Salary: Up to £80k, Based; Leeds with some National travel
We require an experienced Head of Estimating to work for a leading construction company who specialise in off-site construction / modular building solutions. Projects typically include the construction of permanent Education, Healthcare, Retail, Commercial and Sporting facilities, with project values of between £2m-£30m.
Applicants will ideally have previous experience as a Head of Estimating / Estimating Manager for a design & build modular provider or a traditional main contractor with project values between £2m and £30m.
The role:
•Working within the Pre-Construction team, The Head of Estimating will lead the team of Estimators to ensure the Net cost of all bids is established prior to Board approval and client submission.
•Ensure all bid submissions are backed up with demonstrable and achievable net cost details.
•Responsible for the preparation and presentation of analytical cost estimates that reflect the program, methodology and risk profile developed by the bid team.
•Work with the wider pre-construction team to develop risk and opportunity strategies for all bidding activity, including building relationships with the supply chain.
•Assist the pre-construction team to manage a growing workload of new enquiries.
•Support the sales team with budget proposals for speculative enquiries.
•At scheme launch, ensure the delivery team are fully briefed on the commercial strategy taken at bid stage.
Head of Estimating Candidate requirements:
•Demonstrable experience in a Head of Estimating / Estimating Manager role, preferably for a design & build modular building specialist or main contractor.
•Experience of projects with a contract value of between £2m and £30m.
•Have a good working knowledge of modular and general construction techniques and processes, with the ability to generate detailed bills for work tasks from groundworks, superstructure, M&E and fit-out packages.
•Have experience with Redsky database estimating software or similar (i.e. Conquest). Training will be given but basic understand is desirable
•Knowledge of the key terms of JCT D&B and NEC3 forms or contract.
•You must be able to think fast on your feet, you will be tenacious, resilient with the ability to communicate at all levels Be adaptable and flex to suit the business needs
