About the Quality Control Technician role:
The primary role of the postholder is to be responsible for the management of all deliveries, collections and all traffic movements on the site, ensuring that all associated paperwork is accurately and diligently recorded. This will include undertaking some basic material testing in a lab and data entry for inbound raw materials, quality checking of ‘in process’ production materials for the processed aggregate leaving the site, and providing feedback to the Senior Site Supervisor.

- Assisting the Shift Team with vehicle management, administration, record keeping and documentation for the efficient running of the plant and the teams
- Signing in visitors and contractors, issuing site rules and instructions and ensuring appropriate PPE is being worn and method statements are being followed
- Identifying the customer account and material and ensuring that the correct vehicle registration, customer, product, haulier, source/destination and order number is recorded
- Accurately testing and data entry of incoming materials and of processed aggregate
- Being aware and controlling all vehicle movements on-site, ensuring waiting time is minimised
- Producing delivery and collection tickets for all aggregate loads being delivered or collected from the site, spot-checking lorries and notifying if vehicles are overweight
- Ensuring the laboratory is clean and tidy, daily and weekly checks are conducted, supplies are maintained and equipment is calibrated
- Ensuring all admin relating to the site process is completed accurately and in a timely manner
- Being aware of all personal responsibilities for Health and Safety, use of PPE and reporting accidents, incidents and near misses
- Ensuring full compliance with all Company policies and procedures
- Ensuring the image of the site (non-production areas) are always clean and tidy

Key Responsibilities
· Lead the Quality Function and improve control over business processes.
· Create a TQM strategy for the business which will transform the focus towards Total Quality practices generating a culture change to improve measured quality performance in all areas.
· Communicate and implement the strategy, engaging, educating and training managers and employees throughout the business to build TQM principles into the way they work.

· Work closely with the After Sales Service function providing support to generate improvements in customer satisfaction.
· Participate in cross-functional meetings to examine potential process and product points of failure and recommend remedial actions.
· Participate in problem solving events, 5S and Kaizen events
· Preparation of weekly/monthly management Quality Reports
· Define QMS strategy and ensure its proper maintenance

The Candidate
· Will be degree qualified in an Engineering, Science or relevant discipline.
· Will have a minimum of 5 year’s experience of managing quality in a complex organisation, preferably in a similar company designing and manufacturing electronic products and services.
· Will have a demonstrable record of driving improvement in quality performance and have a full working knowledge of TQM methods and tools.
