Business Unit
A busy and fast paced business unit involved in a range of civil engineering works in a variety of sectors to include rail (bridges, embankments, stations, platforms, tunnels etc.), Environment Agency, Local Authority etc. The business unit are involved in multi-disciplinary civils projects across the Western region, whether one off tendered projects or projects within our long term framework / contract agreements with key clients.
Existing contracts include CP6 infrastructure projects, minor works and Environment Agency frameworks with works typically including bridge re-construction/replacement, upgrades and refurbishments, station work (platforms, access for all etc.), structures including bridges, tunnels and footbridges.
The Role
As Project Manager you will be directly responsible for the daily management of various rail and civil engineering projects within our portfolio work in the region. You will be responsible for leading successful contract delivery, by ensuring that the site team are fully appraised of the contract parameters and have the capability and resources necessary to achieve contract objectives.

To excel in this role, you will have previous experience as a Senior Agent or Project Manager in a rail and civil engineering environment.

This is an exciting time to join the G4S Facilities Management Team at Hinkley Point C. We are three years into our ten year contract, working on the largest construction site in Europe.
The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.
Construction and operation of Hinkley Point C will create 25,000 employment opportunities, up to 1,000 apprenticeships and 64% of the project’s construction value is predicted to go to UK companies. There are currently over 4,000 workers on site.
Role Overview
The Air Conditioning Engineer role will be a hands on position where you will be required to respond to and carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive works as standard.
The successful candidate will be mobile across a range of HPC sites where you will diagnose faults on all types of AC systems, ranging from standard back-to-back splits to bigger VRV/VRF and close control systems.
Although the role will involve predominately air conditioning, an understanding of extraction and supply ventilation, from kitchen AHU’s to MVHR heat recovery systems and ASHP would be advantageous, as would knowledge of navigating a BMS onsite system.
Our aim as an FM team is to maintain the equipment on our sites to the highest standard. When problems occur you will rectify or escalate faults accordingly in a safe, effective and efficient manner.
There will be a responsibility to manage your own time and deadlines within a set timeframe of actions. You will co-ordinate this through the onsite CAFM system and ensure works are closed out using detailed reporting outlining works carried out and any further remedial actions required. These actions will be completed using a company issued personal tablet and mobile phone system. You will have an individual responsibility to deliver on PPMs and breakdown tasks within agreed SLAs
You will build good and collaborative working relationships with all our teams, including electrical, plumbing, maintenance technicians, general duties assistants and on site helpdesk team.
This is a full time role working Monday to Friday, between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.

The PMO will support the Programme Manager in creating a Project Management office to ensure our programme of change is synchronised, and issues and risks documented and appropriately managed.
