They are seeking a Principal Control Electronics Engineer to join their electronics engineering team, to lead the design and development of the safety and control electronics solutions. This is a broad role responsible for the whole electronics board design as well as all the software.
This would suit a Senior level Engineer with strong hardware and software electronics experience seeking a new role whereby they can mentor junior engineers (no man management) and be part of a small team working on various industry products including medical in a role where there is still a decent element of technical involvement themselves. Taking responsibility for being the technical lead of the control electronics function, allocating work packages and carrying out upfront compliance work / design, design for safety, systems development, EMC and DFM. Job Purpose:

- Collaborate with other BD Plants to exchange and share process knowledge that may potentially provide cost reductions and efficiency improvements. Keep abreast of newest technology.
- Ensure projects adhere with Health and Safety legislation, environmental legislation, legislation appropriate to the medical device industry in both Europe and USA, and division / plant procedures.
- To mentor and give direction to engineering associates under their control with regard to specific tasks and projects.

What is the Role?

What do I need?
You will have a proven track record in successfully managing and delivering the electrical works packages within a Rail environment with a contract value of ranging from £50k to £750k.
You’ll hold a qualification in electrical engineering.
Technically you will be fully conversant with all electrical installations including: switchgear, distribution cabling, circuit wiring, fixtures & fittings. You’ll understand the importance of commissioning management from the design stage through to the completion of the works.
With strong leadership skills, you’ll motivate and manage your team to ensure the project is delivered to client timescales and to the highest standard. As a team player, you’ll be confident liaising at all levels of a large organisation, working with operations/commercial/procurement/IT/engineering to achieve set goals.
Additionally you will be well organised with excellent IT skills and will have a positive approach to handling problems and resolving issues.
You’ll be experienced in efficient use of Microsoft systems such as Outlook, word and excel
