Reporting to the Service Manager and based out of the production facility near Kettering, Northampton, the successful Field Service Engineer candidate will undertake a broad range of both reactive and PPM activities on a range of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and will thrive within a customer facing environment in which the highest levels of quality customer service and satisfaction are of paramount importance.
After an initial training and induction period encompassing all aspects of Health and Safety and working at height, the successful candidate will carry out service calls on a planned preventative and reactive basis at customer premises as required, undertaking Preventive Service Maintenance and repair of customer's site equipment and other manufacturer's products and systems, in full response to customer's requirements, whilst communicating activity and requirements with the customer in a clear and concise manner, and reporting via job sheets the activities carried out and faults found during service before resolving servicing and maintenance issues.
Complying with all Health and Safety Requirements, you will additionally provide assistance in the installation and commissioning of any machines and will be flexible in your approach to the position and be able to carry out tasks with little or no site supervision, whilst possibly being time restrained in carrying out that task.
It is envisaged that the successful Field Service Engineer will currently be working in a similar Plant and Equipment arena, highly probably within a maintenance environment, and will demonstrate experience of working with Materials Handling Equipment, Automatic process equipment with a solid mechanical background. You will be multi-skilled experience and as the role is field based, you will be comfortable with working in various locations and varied environments under your own initiative.

They are seeking a Principal Control Electronics Engineer to join their electronics engineering team, to lead the design and development of the safety and control electronics solutions. This is a broad role responsible for the whole electronics board design as well as all the software.
This would suit a Senior level Engineer with strong hardware and software electronics experience seeking a new role whereby they can mentor junior engineers (no man management) and be part of a small team working on various industry products including medical in a role where there is still a decent element of technical involvement themselves. Taking responsibility for being the technical lead of the control electronics function, allocating work packages and carrying out upfront compliance work / design, design for safety, systems development, EMC and DFM. Therefore, a real hands on broad leadership role.
Job Purpose:
As a pivotal member of the electronics engineering team, this role will lead the design and development of the control electronics, safety and compliance solutions used in the company’s broad range of fiber laser products. The successful applicant will act as a focus for the control electronics team though the full engineering lifecycle from design and development to prototyping, verification and validation prior to leading certification work in preparation for transfer into full product release.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
• Leading the electronics team in the specification, design and development of control electronics solutions including:
• Design, simulation and testing

Role Overview:

Based in Banbury, Oxfordshire, this role reports to the Operations Director and the successful applicant will be working as a member of the “Vortex” Projects Department at Corsair Engineering Ltd. The role primarily involves the engineering of bespoke ventilation systems to meet all relevant & current regulations, and includes design, drawing, surveying, co-ordinating & the overseeing of projects from start to finish.  This role will require an applicant with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to liaise comfortably with internal and external parties throughout the process.  The focus for this candidate will be ensuring that costs are controlled, high quality and service is provided, and that we meet and exceed customer expectation.

Within this role, you will be required to work on multiple projects at any one time.  This will require someone whose attention to detail and ability to multitask are unquestionable, as this will be pivotal part in determining project-specific success and divisional growth.  Other duties involved are outlined below:

Main duties will include:

  • Engage with site contacts from Mechanical and electrical trades to Clients and architects to assess their needs and requirement.
  • Design and drawing of bespoke ventilation solutions for Corsair’s customer base.
  • Carry out final site measurements.
  • Plan and co-ordinate work schedules.
  • Ordering of site-specific items, such as ductwork, fans, ancillary components, and sub-contract installation.
  • Attend pre-start / progress meetings.
  • Carry out basic operation demonstrations of systems where required.
  • Arrange client site visits, attend progress meetings and support both the “in house” & subcontract Installation Teams.
  • Attend site to complete commissioning and customer hand over.
  • Assist with general sales activities.
  • Any other duties as required and within the skills set of this role.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Must possess previous experience of working in a similar position.
  • Experience of working within the Construction / Shop fitting and / or catering equipment industry would be a clear advantage.  In addition to possessing hands on experience of working with active building sites, another distinct advantage would be a working knowledge and experience of CDM regulations and minor building work.
  • Have the knowledge and understanding of mechanical and electrical services.
  • Knowledge of Electrical and Gas regulations would be an advantage.
  • Be able to work to strict deadlines.
  • Possess excellent communication, organisational and numeracy skills.
  • To work equally well in either a team, or lone working environment.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office programmes especially Outlook, Word, Excel, and also CAD design. PowerPoint is an added bonus.
  • Must be quality driven with attention to detail being paramount in everything achieved.
  • Must be flexible and able to travel.  Dependant on business needs, there may be occasions whereby overnight stays or unsocial working hours are required.
  • Must hold a UK driving licence that meets our insurance requirements.

After an initial training and induction period encompassing all aspects of Health and Safety and working at height, the successful candidate will carry out service calls on a planned preventative and reactive basis at customer premises as required, undertaking Preventive Service Maintenance and repair of customer's site equipment and other manufacturer's products and systems, in full response to customer's requirements, whilst communicating activity and requirements with the customer in a clear and concise manner, and reporting via job sheets the activities carried out and faults found during service before resolving servicing and maintenance issues.

Complying with all Health and Safety Requirements, you will additionally provide assistance in the installation and commissioning of any machines and will be flexible in your approach to the position and be able to carry out tasks with little or no site supervision, whilst possibly being time restrained in carrying out that task.

It is envisaged that the successful Field Service Engineer will currently be working in a similar Plant and Equipment arena, highly probably within a maintenance environment, and will demonstrate experience of working with Materials Handling Equipment, Automatic process equipment with a solid mechanical background. You will be multi-skilled experience and as the role is field based, you will be comfortable with working in various locations and varied environments under your own initiative.
