This is an exciting time to join the G4S Facilities Management Team at Hinkley Point C. We are three years into our ten year contract, working on the largest construction site in Europe.
The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.
Construction and operation of Hinkley Point C will create 25,000 employment opportunities, up to 1,000 apprenticeships and 64% of the project’s construction value is predicted to go to UK companies. There are currently over 4,000 workers on site.
Role Overview
The Air Conditioning Engineer role will be a hands on position where you will be required to respond to and carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive works as standard.
The successful candidate will be mobile across a range of HPC sites where you will diagnose faults on all types of AC systems, ranging from standard back-to-back splits to bigger VRV/VRF and close control systems.
Although the role will involve predominately air conditioning, an understanding of extraction and supply ventilation, from kitchen AHU’s to MVHR heat recovery systems and ASHP would be advantageous, as would knowledge of navigating a BMS onsite system.
Our aim as an FM team is to maintain the equipment on our sites to the highest standard. When problems occur you will rectify or escalate faults accordingly in a safe, effective and efficient manner.
There will be a responsibility to manage your own time and deadlines within a set timeframe of actions. You will co-ordinate this through the onsite CAFM system and ensure works are closed out using detailed reporting outlining works carried out and any further remedial actions required. These actions will be completed using a company issued personal tablet and mobile phone system. You will have an individual responsibility to deliver on PPMs and breakdown tasks within agreed SLAs
You will build good and collaborative working relationships with all our teams, including electrical, plumbing, maintenance technicians, general duties assistants and on site helpdesk team.
This is a full time role working Monday to Friday, between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.

Development Control Engineer
The post holder will provide the Development, Planning and Consenting service for Boards within the SDBC and will seek to ensure that the management of the drainage and water level management network is not compromised by development or changes in land use.
The post holder will report to the Chief Executive Officer and work closely alongside the SDBC Engineers and Ecologist and
Principal Roles
- To manage and undertake the Boards' main response to development planning consultations received from external organisations.
- To manage and provide a Land Drainage Consenting service for all works falling within the jurisdiction of the Boards' adopted Byelaws and Section 23 of the LDA.
- To be proactive in securing funding from developers to cover additional maintenance, operational and staff burdens placed on the Boards by development proposals.
- To provide a Development Control service for the Boards to ensure that any development minimises flood risk and any impacts on the Boards drainage and water level management infrastructure and also allows the Boards to meet their environmental duties.
- To provide advice, guidance and information on development planning and consenting to colleagues in the Boards of the Consortium.
- To assist the Clerk in the enforcement and rectification of unconsented works.
- To undertake formal reporting to the Drainage Boards and their Committees' both in writing and also verbally at their meetings.
Main Duties
- Working with Local Authority Planning Officers and Engineers to promote the interests of the Boards and the improvement of drainage and flood risk.
- Working with Local Authority Planning Officers and Councillors to ensure matters of flood risk, drainage and water level management are adequately covered in Local Plan documents.
- Working in conjunction with the Environment Agency as well as Local Authority flood risk and land drainage Engineers to ensure there is co-operation and co-ordination on planning documents and applications.
- Providing pre-application advice to developers and individuals.
- Working with developers and planning authorities to ensure that the Boards have a clear and robust system in place for the recovery of any and all costs incurred by the Boards when dealing with development within the catchments.
- Collecting and receiving planning application consultations from planning authorities and registering the applications and enquiries in the Boards' electronic monitoring system.
- Assessing and consulting with colleagues and Board Members on applications and enquiries received and then preparing responses. Some checking of hydrology and hydraulic designs may be required.
- Undertaking the monitoring and inspection of LDC site works in conjunction with Board field staff. Checking and ensuring compliance with Land Drainage Consents.
- Obtaining agreements with developers to secure Boards' interests and reimbursement of costs through the Land Drainage Consent process (Commuted Sums).
- Initiating enforcement action against development that is not in accordance with approved Land Drainage Consents. Assisting with the professional and technical input into Enforcement including preparation and presentation of evidence.
- Operating a monitoring system for the control of planning consultations and Land Drainage Consent applications to ensure all consultations and applications meet statutory and non-statutory deadlines.
Secondary Duties
- Organising and running routine internal planning consultation meetings with other SDBC Staff.
- Working with colleagues in the Consortium to provide them with advice on matters of planning development, Land Drainage Consents and Enforcement.
- Have regular contact with Board Members and catchment representatives in order to collect and disseminate local information on applications and the Local Plan.
- Provide written and verbal reports to all Boards and Consortium Committees as well as attending from time to time. Some attendance at evening meetings may be required.
- Set up and maintain a system to record statistics and the proper archiving and filing of information on the Boards' consultation, consenting and enforcement work.
- For any new assets generated through development that are passed to the Board, or are important for operations, to assist the Development Control Support Officer in the gathering and inputting the asset data into the Asset Register.
- Maintaining an-up-to-date knowledge of planning and consenting legislation, codes of practice, national and local guidance and best practice.

I have a requirment for Freelance Site Engineer's that will be responsible for the setting out works on an upcoming Residential project in Cheddar. You will be working with a national tier 1 housing contractor and this is a long term project
Residntial experience is a must.
Ideal candidate will have own setting out instrument.

Having built strong relationship with a variety of clients, they have secured ongoing work as part of a framework as well as delivering schemes up to £25 million.
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
Preferably but not essential HNC Civil Engineering qualified with up to 5 years' site experience. You will have excellent people management skills and the drive to ensure the project is completed within budget and on time. With the desire to improve and develop you will be offered the opportunity to progress.
Experience in the relevant sectors
Competent in setting out.
Good word and excel skills.
Competent with CAD.
CSCS card.
Ideally SMSTS
Health and Safety management.
Site supervision.
Liaise with client and sub-contractors.

This is an exciting time to join the G4S Facilities Management Team at Hinkley Point C. We are three years into our ten year contract, working on the largest construction site in Europe.
The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.
Construction and operation of Hinkley Point C will create 25,000 employment opportunities, up to 1,000 apprenticeships and 64% of the project’s construction value is predicted to go to UK companies. There are currently over 4,000 workers on site.
Role Overview
The Air Conditioning Engineer role will be a hands on position where you will be required to respond to and carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive works as standard.
The successful candidate will be mobile across a range of HPC sites where you will diagnose faults on all types of AC systems, ranging from standard back-to-back splits to bigger VRV/VRF and close control systems.
Although the role will involve predominately air conditioning, an understanding of extraction and supply ventilation, from kitchen AHU’s to MVHR heat recovery systems and ASHP would be advantageous, as would knowledge of navigating a BMS onsite system.
Our aim as an FM team is to maintain the equipment on our sites to the highest standard. When problems occur you will rectify or escalate faults accordingly in a safe, effective and efficient manner.
There will be a responsibility to manage your own time and deadlines within a set timeframe of actions. You will co-ordinate this through the onsite CAFM system and ensure works are closed out using detailed reporting outlining works carried out and any further remedial actions required. These actions will be completed using a company issued personal tablet and mobile phone system. You will have an individual responsibility to deliver on PPMs and breakdown tasks within agreed SLAs
You will build good and collaborative working relationships with all our teams, including electrical, plumbing, maintenance technicians, general duties assistants and on site helpdesk team.
This is a full time role working Monday to Friday, between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.

- Full driving licence.
- Air conditioning engineer, with qualifications, including F-gas, and experience.
- Preferably some experience of building and facilities maintenance, but not essential.
- Passion and pride in all works carried out and a thirst to exceed within the FM sector.
