Position Summary:

JOB PURPOSE

Reporting directly to the Production Rolling Line Manager, the team leader is responsible for carrying out a range of duties on a polyamide rolling line (PRL) for aluminium extrusions, whilst supervising a team of production operatives.

As part of the senior production team the individual will have to drive lean practices and continuous improvement projects, communicate team objectives and set daily goals in line with the company KPI’s, the role will have total control over the day to day running of the PRL team and will need to ensure all PRL team members adhere to the ALUK policies and procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES:

  • Oversee day to day production on all rolling lines;
  • Ensure production targets are met by communicating job expectations and appraising job results;
  • Coach team members to improve performance levels and improve skill sets;
  • Coordinate the teams to optimise production output;
  • Ensure that all items assembled on the production line are correct and of the required AluK standard following all quality control checks;
  • Maintain the work flow through monitoring the process whilst facilitating corrections within the teams;
  • Working closely with the Production Manager to supply reports and updates on Production;
  • Assisting with the recruitment of personnel;
  • Observe and monitor fault finding processes to ensure the correct methods are being used;
  • Monitor maintenance and cleaning of equipment when required;
  • Ensure the production area is kept in a clean operative state;
  • To record all production data and update computer system when required;
  • Record level of consumables i.e. protective tape, printer labels and cardboard;
  • Provide cover for team leaders during holiday periods and prolonged sickness;
  • To be responsible for the security of the building at the end of the shift; and
  • Any other duties that may be required.

    Job Purpose
    The role of the Production Worker operates flexibly across the bakery, performing various tasks that enable us to produce high quality products. All team members are responsible for ensuring quality, food safety, health and safety and recipe and product standards and specifications are always met. The role of the Production Worker is vital to the success and performance of the bakery.
    Role Accountabilities:
    It is everyone’s responsibility to work effectively as a team to deliver the highest quality product possible in a timely manner, whilst conforming to site Health and Safety regulations. Accountabilities and activities include:
    • Tinning and de-tinning of bakery produce • Manual movement of racks, whilst complying to manual handling training

    • Clearing up of spillages in the correct manner (i.e. allergen spillages)

    • Disposing of waste/unusable product in line with procedures

    • Reporting any issues to the supervisor immediately (i.e. glass or plastic breakages)

    • Adhering to quality and GMP standards • Undertake quality checks on production runs

    • Communicate regularly with the team and contribute to overall improvements on the production line

    • Adopt a ‘Clean as You Go’ policy at all times, which means taking pride in keeping your area of work clean, tidy and safe, which will help us to achieve a ‘green’ audit status with our customers.

    • Follow all Health and Safety process and policy requirements to prevent accidents not only within the team but across the site, and reporting near misses and hazards immediately • Work in a team to ensure the performance targets (KPI’s) and standards relevant to the area being worked in are achieved, including Waste Reduction, Standard Throughput, Yield maximisation, successfully pass internal and external audit standards, Hygiene Standards, Quality Standards and zero accidents.
