We have an opportunity for a confident and highly motivated Factory Operative to form part of the Lytag operations team, reporting directly to the Production Manager the Factory Operator is to work a 4 on 3 off, 12 hour shift pattern. The role is varied and requires a high level of efficiency, accuracy and flexibility.

 

About the role
You will be a role model and commit fully to delivering safety excellence, high engineering standards and contribute to, prepare and develop safe practices.

Other elements of the role include:

  • Operate all fixed or mobile plant and equipment to the highest standards to maximise production
  • Ability to carry out quality and production checks and complete all relevant documentation
  • Carryout routine preventative maintenance and minor repair tasks    
  • Report any defects or anomalies in a timely manner
  • Accurately complete records and logs as required, assist with effective handovers at shift change
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping ensuring that areas are clean, tidy and hazard free
  • Identify and propose ideas and solutions that will increase efficiency in production, reduce cost or time without loss of integrity and present to management
  • Support and improve team performance by sharing knowledge and best practices
  • Adopt a flexible working attitude to provide support across all departments to ensure team success
  • Maintain effective communication with all work colleagues at all levels
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and be able to apply it in the workplace
  • Optimise personal performance by participating in individual development and training programs as necessary
  • Ensure that Health & Safety requirements with regard to operational and administrative areas are maintained to the company standards
  • To carry out other reasonable tasks within the scope of your operation and abilities as and when required

This is a full-time permanent role based at their factory in Aston Clinton, within the Kingspan Water and Energy Team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in helping develop the Aston Clinton site, ensuring products are produced in a timely and cost-effective way.
You will be involved in the direct or indirect manufacturing activities relating to the Kingspan product range of pollution control products. Kingspan manufacture equipment for water treatment and storage within the water business. The position of Multi Skilled Operative is multi-functional, although you may work in a permanent position within the factory, with a specific discipline as detailed below.
Production Operative duties:
  • Manufacture parts for septic tanks, plant products, separators and any new products or variations which may be introduced, to the standards defined within the specification and the company quality system.
  • Laminating of glass reinforced components, which could include one or all of the following duties: spraying, laminating, mould preparation and repair.
  • Press moulding of glass reinforced components, which could include one or all of the following duties: press operation, charge cutting, deflashing drilling and cutting.
  • Resin transfer moulding of glass reinforced products, which could include one or all of the following duties: charge loading, equipment operation, demoulding, deflashing, first fit assembly.
  • Product assembly of the full range of Kingspan products, which could include one or all of the following duties: reading of drawings, component assembly to finished goods, cutting, drilling, laminating, sub assembly of steel fabrications, rotors, separators valves, etc.
  • Maintenance of equipment and work area.

Production Operative criteria:
  • Previous experience working as production operative within a manufacturing environment/ factory setting.
  • Good Maths and English skills to GCSE or similar.
  • Ability to accurately measure and document production activities.
  • Holds a driver’s license and have access to their own transportation.
  • Experience in working with fibreglass would be an advantage.
  • Previous forklift training is desirable.

  • Report any defects or anomalies in a timely manner
  • Accurately complete records and logs as required, assist with effective handovers at shift change
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping ensuring that areas are clean, tidy and hazard free
  • Identify and propose ideas and solutions that will increase efficiency in production, reduce cost or time without loss of integrity and present to management
  • Support and improve team performance by sharing knowledge and best practices
  • Adopt a flexible working attitude to provide support across all departments to ensure team success
  • Maintain effective communication with all work colleagues at all levels
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and be able to apply it in the workplace
  • Optimise personal performance by participating in individual development and training programs as necessary
  • Ensure that Health & Safety requirements with regard to operational and administrative areas are maintained to the company standards
  • To carry out other reasonable tasks within the scope of your operation and abilities as and when required
