Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager this role is a unique opportunity for an ambitious Field Service Engineer who will be responsible for carrying out the service and repairs of our Volvo heavy plant construction machinery effectively and competently to the highest standard.  

 

You will be required to apply your industry skills and knowledge to make a real impact within the team and business by:

  • Identifying mechanical problems using technical knowledge and computerised diagnostic equipment, offering guidance and advice to the customer
  • Attending any relevant product or systems training courses to ensure a high standard of competence required to efficiently complete duties.
  • Work in accordance with Volvo Group UK standards of health, safety, quality and environmental care

 

 

The position requires a Service Engineer with:

  • Industry experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy plant machinery
  • NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent.
  • Diagnostics and troubleshooting skills and comprehensive understanding of hydraulics and electronics.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • High standards and attention to detail

PACKING OPERATIVE / FLT Driver
Gi Group Scarborough is currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing manufacturing company in York area who are seeking a Packing Operative to join our client's friendly, close-knit production team.
This is a job role which is defined as a key worker position playing a vital role within the UK at this present time.
HOURS: 39 hours / week, days only and every other weekend
SALARY: £10.15- £ 10.66 per hour + overtime-available (time and a half over 39 hrs)
This role involves:
* being accountable for product integrity
* routine cleaning of equipment and your work area
* performing regular product quality and process verification checks
* entering production, process and quality data on the computer system
* performing basic maintenance tasks, reporting faults to engineering etc
* being actively involved in problem solving/continuous improvement activities
We are looking for someone who:
* has food processing rather than packaging experience
* is used to working to recipes
* has worked on different pieces of kit/machinery to produce a variety of products
* has the necessary IT, numeracy and literacy skills for a modern processing environment
* can understand how things work, problem solve, improve performance etc
* collaborates and communicates with colleagues to achieve goals
* adapts quickly
You would be working an average 39-hour week, days only and every other weekend.
The shift pattern is: Week1 - work Monday to Thursday, have Friday off, work Saturday and Sunday; Week 2 - have Monday off, work Tuesday to Friday, have Saturday and Sunday off. You may have to stay longer some days if there's been a delay, as they produce to order each day, but this will be paid at overtime.
The successful candidate needs to be able to operate within a challenging but rewarding factory environment that is physically demanding and can entail repetitive tasks.
Ideally, experience within a similar production role, however, full on the job training will be provided. You need to have a can do attitude, be willing to work, with good communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team.
Due to location and duties involved in the role, a full valid driving license and TRANSPORT is required.

What You'll Be Doing:
+ Be part of a well-balanced, cross functional team, delivering exceptional software.
+ Actively practice continuous integration and deployment and proactively contribute improvements to the way these are done
+ Write tests at every level of the testing pyramid to ensure the quality of your work is good to go to production every time we build
+ Be capable of working within an agile development process and are self-driven enough to thrive in an environment that promotes high levels of autonomy.
+ Be driven by the customer, everything you do is to solve a problem for our users or to enable us to solve problems for users more effectively/sustainably.
+ Apply your expertise across the full stack as necessary. We recognise specialisms but appreciate open minded people who will step out of their comfort zone to complete their work and expand their skill set.
+ Liaise with the product owner to set expectations and define acceptance criteria
+ Work on an exciting product vision which will change the way in which the world’s largest enterprises do their planning
+ Good attention to detail - you will create applications which solve significant problems for our users, this drives you more so than anything
More About You:
+ Excellent problem solving skills and ability to craft well architected and easy to reason about applications regardless of the "tier".
+ Solid toolkit of design patterns and ability to choose the right ones to apply to each problem.
+ Good core understanding of JavaScript (ES2015+), HTML and CSS to produce well-structured and semantic markup.
+ Familiarity with full stack architectural patterns such as micro-frontends, Backend for front end etc.
+ Expertise writing scalable backend micro-services, bonus points if you know the JVM (Java and Kotlin mostly using Spring Boot).
+ Any experience using deployment tools/technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, chef or puppet is advantageous
+ Writing well thought out tests at the appropriate level, you know when it is appropriate to use TDD/BDD. Quality is extremely important and we expect it to be for our engineers too.
+ The ability to coach and collaborate - you enjoy working closely with others, Pairing and learning, and are comfortable showing off your work.

We are currently looking for Self Employed candidates interested in engineering telecoms roles for our telecom clients.


With this particular opportunity, training, van, tools and ongoing support will be provided. You will need a UK driving license, good people skills and a desire to develop in the Telecoms industry.

Key Responsibilities

• To undertake shift on scope rotational basis work (5 days, Monday – Sunday) covering your local area and working mostly on your own

• Troubleshooting and diagnostics to determine the problem and provide a solution within customers’ homes

• Optimising customers in-home set up to get the best internet speeds and ensure they understand their products which might include digital TV services

• Good attention to detail in completing your workflows daily so we pass the correct information back to our clients and so we effectively manage our stock

Ideal Candidate

• You will be friendly, customer focussed and desire to resolve connectivity issues

• You must be interest in broadband, telephony and digital TV technology and set up

• You will be working on a self-employed basis

• You’ll be a team player, working with the wider team and our clients on a daily basis

• You’ll be hard working and flexible to take on our planned and unplanned workload

• A current UK driving license with no more than 6 points is essential.

Are you an experienced Field Service Engineer looking to join an industry leader distributor of Volvo Construction Equipment?  

 

Here at SMT GB we are always on the look-out for the best people we are now recruiting a Home-based Field Service Engineer covering west and North Yorkshire.

 

Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager this role is a unique opportunity for an ambitious Field Service Engineer who will be responsible for carrying out the service and repairs of our Volvo heavy plant construction machinery effectively and competently to the highest standard.  

 

You will be required to apply your industry skills and knowledge to make a real impact within the team and business by:

  • Identifying mechanical problems using technical knowledge and computerised diagnostic equipment, offering guidance and advice to the customer
  • Attending any relevant product or systems training courses to ensure a high standard of competence required to efficiently complete duties.
  • Work in accordance with Volvo Group UK standards of health, safety, quality and environmental care

 

 

The position requires a Service Engineer with:

  • Industry experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy plant machinery
  • NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent.
  • Diagnostics and troubleshooting skills and comprehensive understanding of hydraulics and electronics.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • High standards and attention to detail
