Area Manager Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing the operation that focuses on the delivery of Amazon orders direct to customers.

Area Manager basic Qualifications:

  • Degree qualification or equivalent.
  • Has knowledge and experience in direct-to-customer fulfilment operations as well as excellent technical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience defining projects, collecting requirements, designing process solutions.
  • A forward thinker, with an ability to manage high levels of ambiguity and thrive on change.
  • Qualifications in Engineering, Operations, or related fields is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and build partnership relationships with both agency management representatives and their delivery providers.
  • Experience with performance metrics and process improvement with demonstrable problem solving skills and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work for different managers: we move managers around to meet business needs and as our business grows and you must adapt to changes in management.

You will build the confidence and skills to influence and negotiate with stakeholders and will learn how to elicit, document and manage user and business needs.

2 x Tester:
As a Tester, you will contribute to ensuring the appropriate level of quality check is made at the appropriate stages of the software development lifecycle. You will work with the team to ensure that testing is carried out and that quality issues are sufficiently considered during development process. You will provide team members with practical advice and recommendations about resolving test issues and through this interaction will support delivery of a quality solution. Part of the role will involve writing high-quality code to automate testing.

1 x Security Infrastructure Engineer:
The Security Admin Team delivers a range of activities to support the implementation and compliance with HM Land Registry security policies. The team are responsible for the maintenance of information security controls across the organisation. This role will perform routine administration tasks, product upgrades and installs. On top of this the role will also support internal and external users with incident resolution and resolve infrastructural issues.

What we’re looking for in our IT Apprentice:

- 2 A-Levels or equivalent

- At least 5 GCSE’s at grade C or grade 4 or above, including Maths, English and ICT or science, or equivalent

- Competency in the use of computer software packages including knowledge of MS Office and email

About the role

You will form part of the engineering team covering the entire site. Your day to day responsibilities will include the planned and reactive maintenance of electrically driven machinery.

Other duties include:

  • Maintaining machinery producing concrete products; operating automated block making equipment
  • Completing remedial actions identified during external electrical inspections
  • Carrying out scheduled tasks detailed in ESMS
  • Maintaining standards and pre-determined productivity, housekeeping and maintenance regimes
  • Ensuring site is fully stocked of electrical spares and equipment and identifying any changes in availability of critical spares
  • Carrying out preventative maintenance tasks and other supporting work required to comply with the company Management Systems
  • Updating the Electrical Safety Management System (ESMS)
  • Maintaining product quality standards, identifying and reacting to all non-conformances
  • Ensuring supplementary support tasks and duties are complete on time
  • Carrying out emergency response when required as per local training

Plessey is seeking a Shift Equipment Engineer, within the Equipment Engineering Department. This is a key role reporting to the Lead shift engineer and will involve working in close collaboration with both engineering and manufacturing personnel at a time of rapid expansion of our LED manufacturing facility.

Plessey is an embedded technologies developer at the forefront of the microLED technology for augmented and mixed reality (AR/MR) display applications. Plessey has recently announced the exciting news that we will be closely partnering with Facebook to help achieve their vision of the next computing platform centred around people.

Plessey is an award-winning provider of full-field emissive microLED displays that combine very high intensity RGB pixel arrays with high-performance CMOS backplanes to produce very high-brightness, low power and high-frame-rate image sources for HMDs, AR and MR systems.

This role will be working on a rotating shift pattern, 2 days (7 a.m. – 7 p.m.), 2 nights (7 p.m. – 7 a.m.), 4 days off, 42 hour working week. Competitive base salary offered plus 38% shift premium. Additional benefits include 17 days holiday plus bank holidays, private health insurance, Group Personal Pension Scheme, on site canteen and fully equipped gym. Location adjacent to Dartmoor National Park.

Main responsibilities may include:

  • Maintenance and repair of a wide spectrum of semiconductor electronic equipment.
  • Equipment qualification.
  • Support FAB production as required with gas bottle/chemical changes.
  • Member of site Emergency Response Team.
  • Ensure that quality and safety standards and procedures are adhered to on the defined equipment set.
  • Total support of a critical specialist equipment area including loading and unloading of product, maintenance / process monitoring / repairs and improvement activities.
  • Project work as agreed with team leader.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience and solid understanding of maintenance, repair and fault finding of electrical / electronic / mechanical equipment.
  • Be committed and contribute towards a continuous improvement operating environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and work safely and effectively without close supervision.
  • Solid understanding of electro/mechanical systems which can be applied to new equipment types (how complex equipment systems operate).
  • Proven troubleshooting skills or ability to demonstrate this.
