The Opportunity:
+ Manufacture Parts for new Processes
+ Machining jigs and fixtures to 2D drawings (Draftsight) and 3D Models (Solidworks)

This a hands-on opportunity making small batches of no more than 5 of each jig. Working in conjunction with Production Engineering this is a great opportunity to bring your suggestions and improvements to the designs and documentation.
The Opportunity:
+ Manufacture Parts for new Processes
+ Machining jigs and fixtures to 2D drawings (Draftsight) and 3D Models (Solidworks)
+ Machine special parts for Engineering Development
+ Machining on manual lathe and manual Mill
+ Program, set and operate basic XYZ CNC Mill
+ Maintain the Machine Shop
+ Maintenance of machine shop equipment
+ Maintaining a clean and tidy workshop environment
+ Setting up equipment for Production use
+ Training production staff and Apprentices on safe working practices within the Production Engineering machine shop
+ Stock control of machine shop - ordering of machine tools and material
+ Carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, the title of the post and its grading as requested by the line manager.
Your Expertise:
+ Related experience gained through apprenticeship, ONC Mechanical Engineering or similar
+ Knowledge of materials, heat treatments and plating specifications.
+ Strong computer skills. Experience with Draftsight or Solidworks would be an advantage.
+ Ability to problem solve and work quickly to changing priorities
+ Enthusiastic, team-player
+ Proven ability to adapt and manage multiple tasks
+ Understanding of CNC Machining (XYZ AGE3 Mill, Hurco Milling systems) would be desirable
