What does the role involve?
Dialysis nursing requires commitment and passion along with the skills and competencies to juggle the technical nursing aspect whilst giving holistic care. You will be working autonomously, responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of care for dialysis patients with chronic kidney disease or acute kidney injury.
Scarborough Dialysis Unit operates 10 haemodialysis stations, serving up to 30 patients, in partnership with Hull & East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust using only the latest equipment. Nursing is planned at a ratio of 1:4 patients.
We have both Full and Part time vacancies available up to 37.5 hours a week. Current days are working various shifts between 6.30am to 6.00pm Monday/Wednesday/Friday and 6.30am to 12.30pm Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday.

Due to career progression, we have a vacancy for a Practice Nurse to join our large Practice Nursing team at the Red and Green Practice in the New Forest, working across two sites.
The anticipated shift pattern would be 4 days a week or might suit 2 nurses working 2 days per week each. Flexibility will be required for sickness and annual leave cover.
The successful applicant will be a Registered Nurse ideally with some experience of working in Primary Care but training will be offered to the right candidate. Your personal and professional development will be fully supported by the management team and your employer.
We are looking for an enthusiastic nurse to help us to deliver nursing care to meet the health care needs of patients registered at the practice following agreed protocols and guidelines while acting within personal and professional boundaries of ability and competence.
The role includes general Treatment Room duties including immunisations and cervical cytology screening, Chronic Disease Management and Urgent Care/Minor Illness management depending on previous experience. Training will be offered in order to expand or enhance existing skills
We are a large practice with 14 GPs, 3 ANPs, 10 Practice Nurses and a supporting HCA/Phlebotomy/Admin/Reception team. We are a GP training practice so have GP registrars and Medical Students on secondment.
With approximately 24,500 patients, the Red and Green Practice at Waterside (Hythe) and Blackfield Health Centres is the largest provider of primary care in the Waterside area and also the lead practice for the Waterside Primary Care Network.
Role Overview and Principle accountabilities
To deliver nursing care to meet the health care needs of patients registered at the practice following agreed protocols and guidelines while acting within personal and professional boundaries of ability and competence.

4. General Treatment Room skills which, depending on training or experience, may include
Wound care including Doppler assessment and compression bandaging
Cervical cytology screening
Childhood immunisations using PGDs
Other vaccinations using PGDs
Contraception advice
ECG
Injections as prescribed by GPs
Management of minor illnesses or injuries
Foreign travel advice using PGDs and PSDs
Infection Control following national and local protocols
5. Assist in the management of patients with chronic disease including asthma, COPD and diabetes depending on training and experience
6. Management of patients requesting emergency appointments or urgent care working alongside the Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Supporting GP and either
initiate prescriptions for GP to sign after discussion using local and national guidelines (if not trained as a Non-Medical Prescriber) or
work as an Independent Nurse Prescriber following local and national evidence-based guidelines to prescribe safe, effective and appropriate medication within scope of practice
7. Initiate investigatory tests, act on results where appropriate
8. Maintain professional development and registration to NMC, working in accordance with The NMC Code
9. Supervise/support HCA and other practice staff as needed
10. Membership of the RCN or other suitable professional body advisable
11. Liaise with and refer patients to other health care professionals as appropriate
