We are a friendly busy GP practice in the Preston Park area of Brighton, looking to recruit a part time Assistant Practice Manager to join our team.
The role is to support the Practice Manager in the smooth day to day running of the Practice. The successful candidate should be motivated with outstanding communication and IT skills, strong personnel management and the ability to implement and oversee system changes.
The role requires a minimum of 22hrs per week, days and times negotiable but with need for some flexibility.
Previous experience of working within a GP practice, knowledge of Primary Care Services would be beneficial.
We are a large friendlytraining practice with approximately 13500 patients. We have 8 GP partners and 4 salaried GPs who are supported by an experienced nursing team and non-clinical team.
To provide support to the Practice Manager in project work.
Responsible for the implementing, monitoring and documentation of performance and quality standards within the practice in relation to GDPR, QOF, Enhances Services.
Provide digital support including: IT troubleshooting, oversee SystmOne Templates, searches and coding for QOF and the Enhanced Services
Submit claims as necessary to CCG and NHSE/I
To co-ordinate and carry out audits, producing reports as necessary
To oversee and ensure that all patient recalls are being carried out in a timely and efficient manner by the appropriate teams, to ensure targets are being met.
Assist the Practice Manager and Reception Manager in the training of current and new staff
Keep accurate and up to date data on all mandatory staff training
Take an active interest in the Patient Participation Group and attend meetings when appropriate.
Keeping practice Policies and Procedures up to date and in line with CQC requirements
Provide admin support to the Research Clinical Lead
Lead for all Patient Complaints
Admin lead for Child Protection and Significant Events (organise, attend and minute meetings)
Oversee and negotiate items required for the general running and safety of the building including outsourced risk assessment providers, PAT testing, Utilities etc
Arrange insurances as required for the Practice: locum, indemnity
Arrange appropriate insurances for B&S Medical Ltd
Provide administrative support, with daily financial tasks to the Practice Manager; invoices, claims, reconciliation and End of Year accounts preparation

We have an exciting opportunity in our Eastbourne clinic for an experienced senior staff nurse who is looking to make the next move in their career.
The Eastbourne clinic is a purpose built clinic in the Chaucer Business park affording free private parking for employees and patients alike. The unit provides Renal outpatient treatments for patients requiring kidney dialysis and works in partnership with the Brighton and Sussex NHS Trust. Services are provided Monday to Saturday from 6:30am to 11:30pm with a combination of shift times (no night shifts or Sunday working required).
The clinic is afforded with 16 dialysis stations and a consultant supports the unit with monthly visits/reviews. The facilities are spacious and there is a dedicated staff room/rest room facility for staff. There are bus services to this area which is situated near Stone Cross and Polegate, just a short journey from the beautiful Eastbourne and Brighton coastlines.
You will provide patient care according to Diaverum procedures and in order to increase the quality of life for our patients.
RESPONISIBILITIES:
• To manage the dialysis clinic in the absence of the manager, encompassing effective leadership of staff and ensuring high standards of patient care
• To develop and promote good working relationships between Diaverum and the NHS
• To provide specialised nursing knowledge and skills to enable junior members of the nursing team to develop their skills and knowledge
• Ensure all technical equipment are fully maintained and operational and water quality conforms to Renal Association Standards
• Discuss health concerns with patient; review patient concerns with the multi-disciplinary team as necessary
• Act in professional advisory role to staff providing supervision and guidance, monitoring and evaluating their performance on a continuing basis
• Undertake necessary performance measures such as audits, reviews and patient/staff surveys to ensure compliance with internal, NMC and healthcare best practice guidelines.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care programmes
• Act as a named staff nurse for a group of assigned patients ensuring ‘great care‘ is provided at all times
• Proactively participate in quality and service improvement programmes
REQUIREMENTS:
• NMC Registered Nurse
• Post basic qualification in renal nursing such as diploma, ENB Course 136 or equivalent.
• ENB998 or equivalent (teaching/assessing)
• At least two years' experience in Haemodialysis working at a Senior level
• Experience of managing and leading a team of nurses
• Awareness and Understanding of NMC code of professional conduct
• Be able to work autonomously and within a multi-disciplinary team
• Have a positive and dynamic approach to providing safe and effective delivery of care
• Excellent communication skills with fluency in English
