This company is a market leading provider of off-the-shelf and custom-built e-learning products for some of the worlds' most recognisable and respected companies. Their product range is developed in-house by experienced Designers and Developers based on Moodle.
In this role, you will be working on both existing systems and greenfield projects that are part of the company's core vision and strategy.
We are happy for you to spend most of your time working from home with one day per month spent in the office in Doncaster, when COVID restrictions are reduced. The office base will be there whenever you need it.
You will work closely with the e-learning development team using your software design and programming skills, including the use of PHP MVC frameworks, MySQL, JavaScript (and associated frameworks) and other emerging web technologies, in a Moodle environment.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Learning Technologies you will take a lead on the development and maintenance of our Moodle based systems as well as the coordination system upgrades, integration projects and provide key input into the development direction of the LMS.
The successful candidate will have strong development and design skills along with an understanding of UX. The work will include Integration with a bespoke e-commerce system. You will use your knowledge of learning technologies to provide blended learning solutions.
You will also get to work on a variety of other e-learning related development projects for some of the world's largest companies and participate in peer review with the e-Learning development team.
You will ideally have some knowledge of OWASP and current best practices in secure coding, ensuring that security and data protection is a key consideration in your work.
You will be expected to maintain detailed documentation and work within our source control requirements, also leading on any enhancements to be made to the development process as the team grows.
Key Experience Required
We are looking for an experienced PHP developer with extensive Moodle experience including the development of custom components, blocks and plugins.
Desirable skills:
  • Cross-device development
  • International e-learning standards (SCORM, AICC, xAPI/Tin Can etc.)

The Software Developer Role:

Your job will be to bring your enthusiasm and drive to our technical team, to be involved in all our requirements and design sessions, to share responsibility for the delivery and maintenance of all our products with the rest of your team and above all to fit in seamlessly with the positive and fun environment we're passionate about preserving.

You’ll be working primarily on our two core products; a contactless donation box & a self-service tech solution for libraries. These are modern JavaScript React/Redux web applications that use NW.js to run in locked down desktop environments. You will also contribute to new projects that come along from time-to-time.

The kind of activities you could be involved with are:

+ Designing and updating the user experience for the Donation Station and Discovery Station desktop applications and improving the UI.
+ Adding new features to the desktop applications.
+ Maintaining and updating the backend infrastructure and APIs written in Python/Django.
+ Integrating hardware devices to expose them to be used via a Windows service written in C# and creating simple API endpoints that the desktop applications can use to communicate with hardware.

About You:

Your skills and experience should be in software development (min. 2 years commercial experience), with an emphasis on Agile development with automated testing and quality built in. To balance our team, we are looking to hire someone with skills in and a passion for front-end JavaScript development and confidence to work on new and existing projects to design the front-end infrastructure. We expect you to have experience with most of the following:

How you will contribute
You will:
+ Manage the site HACCP & Food Safety program in line with MDLZ, ISO & FSSC 22000 requirements.
+ Manage other quality systems and activities to ensure compliance with MDLZ Quality Policies & Business KPI’s.
+ Manage, coach & develop section based Quality members on all food safety related tasks
+ Lead management of Food safety related incidents & failures to ensure they are managed in the appropriate way, any non-conforming product controlled, root cause established and correction & preventive actions put in place.
+ Support and manage the reduction of Quality losses across the site (in line with IL6S principles).
+ Support proactive Quality Management associated with Quality Control Plans, Change Management, Decision Making and Document Control.
+ Provide day to day support to ensure production is compliant to Quality specifications, HACCP/Food Safety, Mdlz Quality Policies, Business KPIs and legal requirements.
+ Drive improvements to all aspects of operational Quality Management through day to day non-conformance management, line auditing, line coaching and plant reviews.
+ Facilitate & coach compliance to Quality record keeping, retention & revision.
+ Define & lead the Food safety training, capability building and coaching requirements for the site.
+ Provide Quality and food safety direction when new products or processes are introduced onto the production lines.
+ Lead the quality aspect of all NPD ensuring all quality and food safety requirements are me. Develop section quality in NPD requirements
+ Be the quality representative of change management. Develop and coach section quality to ensure change is managed in the correct way.
+ Manage the laboratory systems ensuring any out of spec results are managed with satidfactory corrective actions.
+ Lead the site’s VACCP food defense agenda. Ensure the site complies with the most recent regulations. Develop section and central quality to ensure capability across all sections

  • Contributing to the design, development, testing, securing, and evaluation of system or infrastructure architecture used throughout the IT solution set
  • Co-ordinating with multiple functional areas and vendors on the planning, selecting, implementing, testing, securing, maintaining, and servicing of IT solutions
  • Help ensure all infrastructure services are managed and supported according to industry/vendor best practice, following defined processes and procedures and to meet agreed availability and performance KPIs.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
As a our new QA Engineer you will be working closely with our talented test team. You will be involved with Mobile App, API, Functional and Automation Testing working in according to Agile methodologies, and testing best practises. As a Senior within the team you will be looked to, to help coach and mentor more junior team members. Reporting into the overall Head of QA.
Our market leading software is always growing, adapting and changing. So, QA is huge for us! You will ideally have had experience in a SAAS environment. You will be acting as an advocate for testing and agile within the business, so you really do need to have passion for your work.
YOU NEED TO HAVE….
  • 2 years plus software testing exprience covering Functional, Mobile, API, and ideally Automation Testing
  • Exprience of working in an Agile team
  • Strong communication skills
