We are currently seeking an Engineering Supervisor to join our busy Engineering team in Norwich!

As an Engineering Supervisor you will ensure all maintenance and servicing is managed and carried out within the specified health and safety and budget parameter

The successful Engineering Supervisorwill be responsible for the following duties:

  • To allocate planned and unplanned work to engineering staff in the most efficient way.
  • When nominated, deputise for the Engineering Manager during periods of sickness, holiday or other prolonged absence.
  • When nominated, implement the disciplinary procedure up to and including written warnings, including preliminary investigation and the production of associated reports.
  • To monitor workshop staff sickness and absence.
  • To manage labour overtime in line with engineering budgets.
  • Carry out vehicle inspection audits in line with UK Bus SOPs.
  • Supervising of vehicle cleaning, fuelling, oil checks and parking in line with UK Bus SOPs.
  • To liaise with external contractors for workshop plant and equipment emergency call outs.
  • Take digital photographs of any vehicle involved in a third party incident in line with central engineering standard operating procedures.
  • To ensure no parts are booked out of stores without a work order or fleet number with the correct WBS (Reason code).
  • To manage the engineering vehicle status board and update the daily garage log to facilitate workshop planning.
  • To carry out skills assessments of all workshop staff and subsequently develop and deliver training and development plans for each member of staff.
  • To liaise with the operations department to deal with changeovers and breakdowns in the most effective way to minimise lost mileage.
  • To carry out daily team briefings to discuss the previous day's performance, any problems encountered, potential solutions and the current days' work schedule.
  • To diagnose reoccurring vehicle defects as identified by the local engineering manager and organise repair.
  • To ensure the enforcement of vehicle-specific diagnostic procedures for rectifying defects.

Skills and experience required

The successful candidate will hold an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an Engineering field and be conversant with monitoring standard of engineering work on PCV.  Knowledge of safe operation of workshop equipment is essential and previous supervisory experience would be desirable. To apply for this role, you must be in possession of, or capable of obtaining a full PCV licence.

About the Job Dimensions

This is a customer facing role within the Quality Organization supporting customers based in Europe to provide leading edge automotive applications using the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon, Modem and 5G technology. The Customer Quality Engineer (CQE) will work with customers to address quality issues, initiate customer returns and work with Qualcomm internal engineering teams (such as Applications, Product and Test, Quality around the world) to drive issues to conclusion acceptable to the customer and Qualcomm.
The CQE will also work directly with customers to obtain information on quality performance, new product schedules and insight into customer manufacturing locations/ capability to identify and minimize any potential risks to Customers or Qualcomm. Close links to Sales and Customer engineering teams will be essential.
The Customer Quality engineer will be required to perform technical evaluations of suspect products (including detailed diagnostics on bench) to determine cause of failure and will be an active participant in 8D investigations.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Be point of contact for Automotive customers based in Europe on Quality issues.
+ Work with customers, Qualcomm Customer Engineering to address customer manufacturing issues.
+ Perform electrical diagnosis on customer returned parts to determine cause of failure.
+ Evaluate customer complaints and return requests and support customers in initiating Customer returns if necessary and feedback outcomes of the analysis (including Failure Analysis Reports).
+ Obtain from customers feedback on Qualcomm quality performance (issues / fail rates/ cycle times etc) and input this learning back to Qualcomm quality organization.
+ Work closely with Customer Engineering / Applications teams to understand new product introduction status and feedback issues to Qualcomm quality organization.
+ Present Quality related materials with customer teams and discuss potential quality issues.

We would like to hear from you if you have extensive experience in GLP Quality Assurance in agrochemcials and some exposure to running or supervising a small team. You should be qualified to BSc level in ideally in a scientific discipline but all candidates with relevant experience will be considered.

The incumbent is responsible for ensuring a harmonized quality management system at Battelle UK Ltd across all its UK facilities, and that all groups maintain, utilize and continuously improve quality management systems that are fit-for-purpose. The incumbent is also responsible for ensuring that all UK facilities are compliant with any and all international, national, regional and local laws and regulations relating to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).

The Quality Assurance Manager should have a solid understanding of the regulatory and legal frameworks, international requirements, legislation, and processes and procedures related to pre-clinical safety studies conducted to GLP. The incumbent should also be able to combine the scientific and technical aspects of projects and think critically.

Experience

  • At least 10 Years of experience in preclinical Quality Assurance.
  • Experience in biopharmaceutical and/or pesticide analysis required.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Technical/Scientific writing and document formatting.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (e.g. WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Research Quality Association (RQA) member (desirable).
  • Knowledge of Statistics (desirable).

We are currently seeking an Engineering Supervisor to join our busy Engineering team in Norwich!

As an Engineering Supervisor you will ensure all maintenance and servicing is managed and carried out within the specified health and safety and budget parameter

The successful Engineering Supervisorwill be responsible for the following duties:

  • To allocate planned and unplanned work to engineering staff in the most efficient way.
  • When nominated, deputise for the Engineering Manager during periods of sickness, holiday or other prolonged absence.
  • When nominated, implement the disciplinary procedure up to and including written warnings, including preliminary investigation and the production of associated reports.
  • To monitor workshop staff sickness and absence.
  • To manage labour overtime in line with engineering budgets.
  • Carry out vehicle inspection audits in line with UK Bus SOPs.
  • Supervising of vehicle cleaning, fuelling, oil checks and parking in line with UK Bus SOPs.
  • To liaise with external contractors for workshop plant and equipment emergency call outs.
  • Take digital photographs of any vehicle involved in a third party incident in line with central engineering standard operating procedures.
  • To ensure no parts are booked out of stores without a work order or fleet number with the correct WBS (Reason code).
  • To manage the engineering vehicle status board and update the daily garage log to facilitate workshop planning.
  • To carry out skills assessments of all workshop staff and subsequently develop and deliver training and development plans for each member of staff.
  • To liaise with the operations department to deal with changeovers and breakdowns in the most effective way to minimise lost mileage.
  • To carry out daily team briefings to discuss the previous day's performance, any problems encountered, potential solutions and the current days' work schedule.
  • To diagnose reoccurring vehicle defects as identified by the local engineering manager and organise repair.
  • To ensure the enforcement of vehicle-specific diagnostic procedures for rectifying defects.

Skills and experience required

The successful candidate will hold an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an Engineering field and be conversant with monitoring standard of engineering work on PCV.  Knowledge of safe operation of workshop equipment is essential and previous supervisory experience would be desirable. To apply for this role, you must be in possession of, or capable of obtaining a full PCV licence.
