A typical admin role in the NHS, such as a health records clerk, will often be rated with a band 2 pay scale. In monetary terms, this means earning between £15,250 and £17,900 a year for a 37.5 hour week. Assistant health records managers will be on band 5 which means they can earn over £28,000. According to the National Careers Service, NHS pay scales are subject to rates that are set under a mechanism called Agenda for Change.
