  • Ensure quality delivery of works through a range of monotorising and recording
  • Monitor day to day customer relations and take reasonable steps to prevent issues from occurring.
  • Provide information on site activities to support Contracts Manager
  • Assist Contracts Manager in managing staff in line with policies and procedures, such as recruitment, training, capability, disciplinary, talent development and succession; escalate issues accordingly and contribute to performance reviews.
  • Escalate training and development needs.

Maintenance Engineering Supervisor required for a forward thinking and nationally recognised waste/energy recycling firm. The company is continuing to receive investment and are operating in a hugely exciting sector.
The successful team leader / supervisor will have previous leadership experience, ideally leading a multi-disciplined team. Candidates from a mechanically biased background are preferred, although those from electrical and controls/instrumentation are encouraged to apply. The role will be a mixture of hand on and desk based activities, candidates should be prepared to work in both capacities. Those from waste / recycling backgrounds will have a distinct advantage, although ALL candidates that can demonstrate leadership experience and have worked in a heavy industry environment are encouraged to apply. Previous experience working in a maintenance engineering capacity on larger / industrial equipment is ESSENTIAL.
Working as part of a multi- disciplined team, including: mechanical technicians, electrical technicians and controls/instrumentation tech's, you will be the go to person on shift for all engineering activities. Working with the operational function, you will be responsible for: motivating and leading a team on a daily basis- strong man management skills are a must, distributing planned and reactive maintenance activities across site on shift, working hands on- fault finding and repairing on a range of rotating equipment, ensure all colleagues are acting in accordance with health and safety regulations, driving improvements across site, along with much more.

The Person:
Experienced maintenance engineer with leadership experience (team lead, team manager, maintenance manager, maintenance coordinator etc)
Mechanically biased (beneficial)
Strong man manager
Experience in waste / recycling (beneficial)
Experience in a heavier industry environment (power plants, aggregates, energy, oil & gas- examples)- ESSENTIAL
The role:
Leading a team of 5 engineering staff on shift
Distributing reactive and planned maintenance tasks across site
Fault finding and rectification on rotating equipment
Fantastic earning potential (£55,000- £60,000+)

Job Summary

37 Hours per week (fortnightly average):      9 day fortnight shift is in operation

Dayshift          6.30am – 3.00pm        Mon – Fri

Backshift         12.00, Noon – 9.00pm  Mon - Thur

Applications are sought for a suitably qualified & experienced HGV / Plant Mechanic, based at our fleet workshops at the Hilton Depot in Bishopbriggs.

In this role your responsibility will include the day to day maintenance and repair of the Council’s Plant & Vehicle Fleet. Reporting to the workshop Shift Leader your duties will include service, inspection and maintenance of Vehicles & Plant to industry standards ensuring all work undertaken is of the highest standard and vehicles & plant in operation are roadworthy at all times. A compulsory standby service is in operation and there is a requirement for the successful candidate to be on emergency call one week in six.

All candidates must also have completed a recognised apprenticeship in a Plant, HGV or PCV fleet workshop environment, be in possession of a City & Guilds 381 part 1 & 2 qualification or equivalent and hold a full driving licence. An HGV driving licence would be desirable but is not essential.

The following criteria applies to all roles within East Dunbartonshire Council where PVG/Disclosure checks are essential criteria

Should an employee leave in advance of the payment being deducted, the full amount will be deducted from the employee’s final salary.
