Job Title: Mass Properties EngineerLocation: Barrow-in-Furness, Brough, Weymouth, Bristol, Portsmouth, Frimley, Manchester – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular roleSalary: CompetitiveWhat you’ll be doing: <ul><li>Collate mass property data for equipment and systems to deliver weight and centroid control on multi billion pound submarine programmes</li><li>Support the Mass Properties Lead to aggregate weight and centroid reports and present the status to the Chief Naval Architect</li><li>Collaborate with system design engineers to accurate estimate mass, centroid and design maturity of multiple mechanical and electronic systems</li><li>Maintain a comprehensive database of parts mass properties</li><li>Provide input to and lead weight saving strategies and maintain the list of weight risk and opportunities for each discipline area</li><li>Interrogate CAD models to determine estimates for mass properties with associated uncertainties</li><li>Utilise statistical analysis to provide a whole boat picture of weight risk and opportunity to senior leaders, stakeholders and our customers</li></ul>Your skills and experiences: Essential<ul><li>Qualified in STEM subject or extensive experience</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team</li><li>IT literate in Microsoft packages, experienced knowledge in Excel</li><li>Ability to understand and interpret engineering data</li></ul>Desirable<ul><li>Experience working with large, Electrical or Mechanical systems</li><li>Data analysis experience including interpretation, visualisation, manipulation and presentation </li><li>Experience of using CAD packages and programmes</li><li>CEng/IEng status or a clear pathway to achieving professional recognition</li></ul>Benefits: You’ll receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan.
