About The Maintenance Engineer - Operative Role
Reporting to the Facilities team you will be responsible for ensuring that the Bolton and Manchester sites are maintained to a high standard and provide a safe, functional and happy place for our people.
You will be a point of contact on site for any facilities issues and queries, continually making sure that scheduled and reactive maintenance is carried out effectively and efficiently to support the continued operation of the business whilst meeting H&S requirements and all building related legislation.
Due to the nature of our business, as our Maintenance Engineer - Operative you will need to be flexible and available for on call duty.
Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing As Our Maintenance Engineer - Operative
- All planned maintenance is on schedule
- Effectively plan own workload and ensure SLAs are hit across multiple sites
- Ensuring all reactive maintenance/jobs are completed in a timely manner
- Ensure sites decoration is in line with required standards and that programmes for titivation are adhered to.
- Ensure that the best and most relevant service is delivered in line with reasonable costs and budgets.
- Visit the sites daily or as frequently as required and support work at the outbases when necessary.
- Liaise with contractors and safely induct on site
- Ensure jobs are logged both proactively and reactively, and that all PPM schedules are completed.
- Ensure that we remain compliant will all legislation and building regulations
- Ensure on call rota’s are adhered to for the main sites, and where appropriate outbases or in the event of a site emergency.
- Ensure that building equipment is maintained as required to ensure the longevity of kit.
- Occasional overnight travel stays to UK based properties.
A Few Things About Our Maintenance Engineer - Operative
- You will have experience working in all or most aspects of general maintenance such as basic plumbing, joinery, electrical, general first fix problem solving.
- You will need a strong background in decorating.
- You will have building maintenance experience
- You will maintain up to date documentation
- Minimum 2 years working in a multi tasked general maintenance role.
- You will be pro-active in ensuring continuous improvement of our all of our sites, demonstrating the ability to identify and prioritise site requirements.
- Ideally knowledge and/or experience of Portable Appliance Testing and Legionella checks.
- Basic IT skills (excel, outlook etc).
- UK Driving license.

Due to expansion of our team, we are looking for Maintenance Engineers to help support the upkeep of our hotels and other locations within the Travelodge estate. Working on a full-time permanent basis, you’ll receive a competitive salary of£24,000 - £29,000 per annum + benefits.

This is a field-based role which involves visiting different locations within a geographical area and carrying out a variety of maintenance related tasks. You will interact with our colleagues in hotels, working with them to ensure you work in the most efficient manner.
As our Maintenance Engineer you will work 40 hours per week, you will be required to work any 5 out of 7 days and we aim to provide you with a rota 3 weeks in advance. Saturdays will likely form part of your working week.
Normal weekly working hours are typically 8.5 hours between the hours of 08.30 and 21:00 with an unpaid 30 min break.
As our Maintenance Engineer you will:
- Complete reactive and planned maintenance jobs within hotels across areas assigned.
- Complete emergency Health and Safety jobs within hotels across areas assigned.
- Develop strong working relationships with the hotel operations teams ensuring that the customer is the key focus.

- Responsible for returning rooms to sale as quickly and efficiently as possible in a safe manner.
- Manage stock to agreed levels and ensure that you have parts available to complete jobs as quickly and efficiently as possible.
