Working within the Warhead Applied Engineering team, the library manager will play a crucial role in creating, managing, and maintaining the AWE PLM CAD libraries to support the UK CASD (Continuous At Sea Deterrence). This role is ideally suited to an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with 3D CAD skills looking to further their career. Who are we looking for? We are looking for someone with experience of: <ul><li>Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)</li><li>Application and knowledge of Material selection</li><li>Proven experience in a Design Office environment</li><li>Proficient user of MS Excel</li><li>An ability to work with a range of stakeholders (technical & non-technical)</li></ul> We do need you to have the following: <ul><li>A degree, HNC/HND or an equivalent vocational qualification, in an engineering discipline supported by considerable practical experience</li><li>Experience in using Computer Aided Design systems</li><li>Experience and knowledge in Mechanical Engineering Design to produce fully defined engineering 3D models, drawings and associated specifications</li><li>Experience using PLM and CAD systems. Siemens Teamcenter and NX particularly desirable although further training will be provided if needed</li><li>Experience, knowledge and application of British, ISO and other industry standards</li><li>Practical experience of machine tools and manufacturing processes</li></ul> Whilst not to be considered a check list, responsibilities of the role will include: <ul><li>Creating, updating, and maintaining a comprehensive CAD library of parts, symbols, and models</li><li>Conducting regular audits of the CAD library to ensure accuracy and completeness</li><li>Implementing and enforcing quality control measures to maintain high standards</li><li>Supporting CAD standards and best practices across the organisation</li><li>Providing support to users of the CAD library</li><li>Managing the implementation of updates within the library, following PLM procedures</li><li>Maintenance of design history</li><li>Collaborating with Senior Engineers in scoping, planning, and estimating future activities</li><li>Applying the practical use of engineering methods, tools, and processes</li><li>Technical leadership/mentoring of junior staff, apprentices & graduates</li><li>Maintaining and promote high standards in ESH (Environmental, safety & health), security and quality</li></ul> We encourage you to apply promptly to avoid disappointment if applications are high and the role therefore closes.
