About the Senior Paralegal Role:


In this role, you’ll specialise in private client law and will work on behalf of clients to provide a high-quality service.  You’ll deal with all legal matters, administration, finance and queries involved in a property transaction.


The Senior Paralegal Role Responsibilities:


• Work in the best interest of the client
• Research information and communicate with clients and others in person, on the phone, by letter or by email
• Independently run a small office with the support of a strong legal assistant
• Take instructions and Seek to protect clients interests at all times
• Assist fee earners to process legal work; attending client meetings, completing file notes, and client checks
• Prepare, draft client care and will letters
• Completing lasting powers of attorney and general administration
• Complete any administration associated with probate work
• Drafting, assessing and producing legal documentation and standard forms for each case
• Take responsibility for every case you are assigned and ensuring all relevant parties are kept informed
• Assist in creating bundles for trial and be on hand to liaise with relevant parties and the court
• Actively engage in business development activities

The Senior Paralegal Role Requirements:


• Strong background within the Private Client sector with 2+ years experience
• Ability to use inhouse case management systems such as Osprey
• Excellent attention to detail
• The ability to work to tight timescales with a sense of urgency
• The aptitude to work efficiently and effectively to progress your case load whilst maintaining the highest quality of work
• A positive, enthusiastic and proactive approach to your work
• Professional, ambitious and self-motivated
• Able to take instruction, process, act and improve
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating an ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels
• Strong customer service who put the customer at the forefront
• The ability to work alongside tight deadlines, show flexibility and prioritise workloads in a consistent manner

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Working in a team of 2-3 people on a Project which involves producing and administering compliance-like documents for a private equity client.
  • Assisting in drafting compliance documents (checklists) which summarise more complex legal documents for multiple closed-ended private funds (Partnership agreements and side letters) into more user/business-friendly, compliance-like documents
  • Project management, file management, organising data, reporting, administering the compliance programme

Person specification

Education/experience

  • Law graduate with a first or upper second class degree or equivalent.
  • Previous paralegal experience or other relevant legal work experience (preferred)
  • Understanding of closed-ended private funds would be helpful but is not essential.
