We are expanding our team and are seeking to recruit a dynamic Associate Lecturer in Foundation Programmes within our Curriculum area to support the teaching, learning, and assessment for our SEND provision. This is offered on a bank basisand in return, we can offer a competitive rate of £17.83 - £31.31 per hour.

Key responsibilities of our Associate Lecturer in Foundation Programmes include:

- Covering the planning and delivery of classes during class tutors’ absences

- Undertaking teaching, learning and assessment activities for SEND learners, ensuring a high quality of provision, in response to learners’ needs

- Promoting and monitoring individualised targets and progression

- Ensuring that student needs are met in a responsive way, in line with the concept of inclusive learning

- Contributing to the design, development and review of programmes in the curriculum area

- Undertaking teaching and learning related activities, including tutoring, as agreed

- Ensuring that appropriate learning materials are prepared, and assessments and assignments are undertaken in a timely manner

- Undertaking administration and providing reports and statistics regarding student and teaching matters

- Understanding personal responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding

Our ideal Associate Lecturer in Foundation Programmes should have the below skills and experience:

- Degree (or equivalent) qualification

- Level 2 Numeracy and Literacy qualification (or equivalent)

- Experience of teaching and assessing learners with learning difficulties and disabilities, including students on the autistic spectrum and those on entry levels

- Knowledge of the core curriculum and pre-entry and entry level

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

- Experience of curriculum delivery and associated administration

- An understanding of safeguarding vulnerable groups

- Knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014 and of SEND reform, including Preparing for Adulthood

- Experience of managing diverse groups of people

- The ability to manage challenging behaviour and to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people at all levels, verbally and in writing

As part of the role, you will learn how to prepare schemes of work, lesson and assessment plans and provide appropriate academic and pastoral support to current and future students as required. The Lecturer in Plumbing role:

Key responsibilities of our Lecturer in Plumbing:

- Scheduled teaching, student assignments, tutorials, and personal tutoring

- Conduct employer and workplace/work placement visits
- Support activities within the Learning Resource Centre, activities relating to employability, work experience and volunteering, and community/personal enrichment activities

- Continually maintain and develop pedagogic skills, subject understanding and knowledge of awarding body and subject specification requirements; undertake and meet any relevant CPD requirements
- Participate in the recruitment of students and the student admissions process
- Represent the College at internal and external events and meetings

- Preparation of UCAS references where relevant

As our Lecturer in Plumbing ideally, you’ll have:

- Knowledge of current evidence-based practice in field(s) of expertise
- Knowledge of issues relating to equal opportunities and cultural diversity

- Experience of facilitating Assessments for students in Further Education or an appropriate workplace setting

Applications are invited for a NIHR Integrated Academic Training Clinical Lecturer post. The post is available for up to four years according to the clinical training needs of the successful candidate to obtain a CC(S)T. You will join the vibrant Integrated Academic Training programme at Leeds which provides a supportive research environment to develop independent, novel research alongside your clinical specialist training leading to full registration. You will be awarded a training contract with the Regional Postgraduate Deanery at specialist registrar (or equivalent) grade and an honorary contract with the appropriate NHS Trust; you must already be at a minimum level of ST3. 

The successful candidate will spend 50% of the appointed period continuing or establishing a new research programme with 50% of the appointed period allocated to appropriate clinical training. There are opportunities to align to current research interests within the Leeds Institute of Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Medicine (LIRMM) or Leeds Institute of Medical Research at St James’s (LIMR) or Leeds Institute of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Medicine (LICAMM). You will undertake internationally regarded research and have the benefit of senior academic support in making grant applications, as well as independent mentoring on career progression. You will also share responsibility for delivering high quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes. 

You will have submitted your PhD/MD at the time you apply and will provide evidence that you have been fully awarded your degree by the time you take up the post. The post is located in either LIRMM (T&O Surgery), LIMR (General Surgery) or LICAMM (Vascular Surgery), University of Leeds and NHS Trust premises including Chapel Allerton Hospital, St James’s University Hospital and Leeds General Infirmary.

Job overview

Due to further expansion, the Charlie Waller Institute (CWI) is seeking to appoint driven and inspiring teaching-intensive Lecturers in CBT to work across our range of training programmes for mental health practitioners.

The successful candidate(s) will support the delivery of high-quality teaching, clinical skills training and clinical supervision on our well-regarded graduate and postgraduate CBT programmes. We work closely with NHSE and HEE colleagues to train staff practising within adult and children and young peoples mental health services.

We welcome applications from both clinical psychologists and from CBT trained individuals, with clinical experience in mental health services, who are seeking a part-time or full-time position within the University.

We expect to appoint lecturers to start in April 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter. Applicants will be clinically trained as a high-intensity CBT practitioner with recent experience of clinical practice.

Main duties of the job

Applicants are required to have an in-depth knowledge of, and ability to teach, cognitive behavioural therapy.

You will also have:

  • Experience of working clinically with CBT interventions
  • Significant experience of teaching in a Higher Education setting
  • Experience of supervising others clinical work

- Knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014 and of SEND reform, including Preparing for Adulthood

- Experience of managing diverse groups of people
