RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a great opportunity to work as part of a committed team of technicians, providing a practical service to the staff and pupils of the school. Responsibilities would include:

- Ensuring all materials and equipment are ready for practical lessons and demonstrations in GCSE and A Level Science classes, across all three disciplines Biology, Chemistry and Physics, liaising with teaching staff for lesson planning

- Cleaning, storing and accounting for all equipment and stock including chemicals

- Undertaking of safety checks and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment

- Ensuring any chemical and biological waste is disposed of correctly

- Maintaining filing systems and correct paperwork for stock orders and keeping the department tidy

- Keeping relevant health and safety knowledge up-to-date eg COSHH requirements

- Assisting teaching staff in the running of practical sessions for pupils, and undertaking other duties as directed

REQUIREMENTS

As the successful candidate you will have:

- A strong knowledge of science and a genuine interest in the subject; a degree qualification in any area of science or experience from a laboratory would be desirable

- Previous experience of working in a school laboratory, or work experience with children in another capacity (paid or voluntary), would be advantageous for referencing purposes

- A patient approach towards working with children and adults alike

- Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing

- A strong work ethic, the ability to work as part of a team of technicians, and a professional attitude

Job Description
We are recruiting a Biologics Team Leader to join the Quality team in Runcorn on a Full Time, Permanent Basis.
The Biologics Team Leader will be responsible for bringing expertise in biological techniques, leading laboratory technicians and coordinating testing activities to achieve departmental goals in agreed timelines whilst maintaining cGMP, HSE, Regulatory and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
+ To coordinate activities to support the delivery of the QC plan within agreed timelines.
+ To ensure team compliance with standard operating procedures, cGMP, cGLP, H & S and Regulatory requirements.
+ To ensure documentation is completed to agreed standards and timelines.
+ To test and analyse components/ raw materials/ bulk and finished product using the correct procedures in compliance with cGLP, cGMP, H & S and regulatory requirements.
+ Provide training and guidance to team members
+ Lead Laboratory Investigations in accordance with company procedure.
+ Provide biologics expertise to assist the method transfer for new products to the QC department

+ Extensive QC, Pharmaceutical Experience - specifically working with Biologics
+ Understanding of a commercial pharmaceutical laboratory environment.
+ Proven leadership experience and the ability to lead a team

About the Role
This is an opportunity for a suitably qualified/experienced person to use their skills in science to support our teachers to help our pupils succeed and reach their full potential in the sciences. This role will involve managing 8 science laboratories and 1 technician. You will support teaching and learning within our Science Faculty and the role will include the preparation and retrieval of materials and apparatus when required for demonstrations and practical work, as well as working alongside teachers to assist in practical demonstrations and experiments during lessons. In addition, you will also be responsible for the organisation of the Science preparation rooms, including the safe storage and disposal of chemicals, the monitoring and management of stock and supplies and the maintenance and cleaning of equipment along with any ad hoc tasks delegated to you by the Science Faculty. You will also be required to act as a First Aider in school and appropriate training will be provided.
Personal Qualities
The responsibility of the Senior Science Technician to assist with the delivery of practical work in the school’s science programmes and to be responsible for the science laboratories, prep room and storerooms. The aim is to help the science teachers deliver the highest possible standard of teaching through experimental work and practical demonstrations and so improve students’ performance in public examinations. Expertise in Chemistry is a key requirement of this post.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, flexible and passionate individual to join the Technical Support Team as a Junior IT Technician. Candidates must have a minimum of 1 years proven technical support experience and be qualified to NVQ level 3.

The candidate may also be required to attend offsite locations so a drivers license and access to a vehicle would be preferable.

Basic working knowledge of IT hardware, current Microsoft operating systems both desktop and server environments and Microsoft Office applications is essential. Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills are crucial. Working knowledge of the following is also required: -

  • Anti-virus and desktop security software such as encryption.
  • Networking (TCP/IP), VPN and remote access.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and flexible individual to join the Senior Infrastructure Specialist Team as a Senior Technician for Core Infrastructure. As a Senior Technician you will be involved with delivery and support of servers both physical & virtual, storage, backups and a wide variety of general infrastructure solutions. The candidate will ideally be qualified to degree level in a relevant field, be in possession of a suitable Microsoft qualification such as MCP / MCSE or have demonstrable equivalent knowledge and experience. Participation in out of hours service management rota will be required and the role may include participation in the on-call rota.

  • Intermediate working knowledge of a range of major IT infrastructure service systems such as but not limited to server / desktop virtualisation technologies, DNS, DHCP, SAN, SQL, IIS, SCCM and Citrix.

  • Skills and experience in scripting & process automation.
  • Experience in Azure cloud architecture
