What does being a Bank Healthcare Assistant involve?

As a Healthcare Assistant you will support the healthcare team in the delivery of direct patient care to patients in our inpatient hospitals. You will work closely with our nurses, allied health professionals and other colleagues.

You’ll be joining our team of bank staff who provide cover flexibly across all areas of the Trust. You will work under a flexible zero hour’s bank agreement and can choose from available shifts to fit round your other commitments. Shifts vary and can cover days, nights, weekends and other shifts patterns.

We are currently looking for candidates who can work flexibly across all our locations but in particular would welcome interest from candidates who are able to work in the following areas:

Support and training

On commencement you will attend a trust induction and undertake mandatory online and socially distanced classroom based training on areas such as basic life support, manual handing, infection control, safeguarding, information governance and more. An exciting opportunity has arisen within the newly built Frank Radcliffe Fracture Clinic for a Band 2 healthcare assistant. This post is for 19.5 hours per week, but various hours will be considered to support the patients, nursing staff and Orthopaedic Consultants.

We run a variety of Orthopaedic clinics including Paediatric Orthopaedic Clinic in the Foundation Wing.

Flexibility regarding hours of duty is an important consideration.

The main hours of duty in the Fracture clinic is 08.00-18.00 or a variation of these hours to cover the clinics.

All applicants should have an NVQ or similar Healthcare qualification and be able to evidence this.
